I was amused enough for the five or ten minutes it took me to page through this。

3。5 stars。I’ve been following Sarah’s Scribbles for ages, so I was intrigued by this other creation by the same comic artist。As expected, this was quite bizarre。 The world of Cryptid Club was a look into the adventures of elusive creatures such as Big Foot and Loch Ness Monster (and their puzzlement over human beings)。Did I enjoy it? Yes I did。 It wasn’t as amazing as Sarah’s Scribble IMHO, but it was still noteworthy。 It showcased Sarah’s jokes really well (my kind of humour!), and I found myse 3。5 stars。I’ve been following Sarah’s Scribbles for ages, so I was intrigued by this other creation by the same comic artist。As expected, this was quite bizarre。 The world of Cryptid Club was a look into the adventures of elusive creatures such as Big Foot and Loch Ness Monster (and their puzzlement over human beings)。Did I enjoy it? This was a fun and easy read, filled with the cryptid’s we’ve all grew up hearing about - seeing them as ‘real’ creatures, who hate socialising, who’s dresses have pockets, who can’t take a good photograph no matter how hard they try。 Sarah Andersen never dissapoints! This was a quick read which kept me company on a few train journeys!

Sarah Andersen and I seem to share the same identical sense of humor because there is not a single panel in this book that I did not laugh at and love。 This book is full of witty, heartfelt, and fun comics that continue to prove Andersen is the master of using 4 panels to tell an entire story。 Every cryptid one could possibly be looking for is found within the pages of this fun book and they all get their own witty moment to shine and prove that they are as awkward as the rest of us。I loved this Sarah Andersen and I seem to share the same identical sense of humor because there is not a single panel in this book that I did not laugh at and love。 This book is full of witty, heartfelt, and fun comics that continue to prove Andersen is the master of using 4 panels to tell an entire story。 Every cryptid one could possibly be looking for is found within the pages of this fun book and they all get their own witty moment to shine and prove that they are as awkward as the rest of us。I loved this one and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun book to read this spooky season or just to get a year-round dose of delightful cryptids。 Very happy thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the delightfully fun read! 。。。more

Sarah Andersen brings her signature humor and charm to spooky season。 I’ve been a pretty big fan of her other work, and I’m a pretty big fan of crytpids (please check out some of my other questionable reading choices), so this was a slam-dunk for me。 It’s silly and adorable! This collection stars a cryptozoologist’s dream of crypts, from classic ones like Bigfoot and the Chupacabra to newer ones like Sirenhead and Slenderman。 For those of us not so up to date, there’s a helpful who’s who section Sarah Andersen brings her signature humor and charm to spooky season。 I’ve been a pretty big fan of her other work, and I’m a pretty big fan of crytpids (please check out some of my other questionable reading choices), so this was a slam-dunk for me。 It’s silly and adorable! This collection stars a cryptozoologist’s dream of crypts, from classic ones like Bigfoot and the Chupacabra to newer ones like Sirenhead and Slenderman。 For those of us not so up to date, there’s a helpful who’s who section in the back。 Unlike the author’s previous collections, all of the comics are in gorgeous full color。 The art is whimsical and emotive (which I imagine had to be hard with the characters who don’t have faces!) and fits the subject perfectly。Despite the fact this collection stars supposedly scary cryptids instead of the usual stand-in for the author, a lot of the themes are the same。 There’s social anxiety, like what happens when the crypts try to take a group photo。 There’s fashion commentary, like the Fresno Nightcrawlers complimenting the Flatwoods Monster’s dress (“It has pockets!”) or Big Foot and Slenderman commiserating over how hard it is to find clothes that fit。 And hey, cryptids have some of the same problems as us, like trying to find a babysitter (the siren has some, uh, out of the box suggestions for the Kraken)。While most of the comics made me smile, there were a few duds and a few that made me laugh out loud。 This isn’t the sort of collection that leaves you rolling on the floor laughing, but rather one that makes you smile and awww in adorableness。 There’s a couple of running gags (the siren’s many bad dates, Mothman’s obsession with lights, the sweetest friendship between Bigfoot and Nessie) but for the most part they’re unconnected。Overall, this is a great collection of comics perfectly timed for Halloween season。 If you’re a fan of Sarah Andersen’s other work, you won’t be disappointed!I received an advance review copy of this book from NetGalley。 This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review。 。。。more

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARCAs usual, reading any PDF through Netgalley's app is a struggle -- paging down pages back up, turning the page shoots you back several pages -- but formatting aside, this is a cute comic。 It collects the Cryptid Club comic strips that I've read before on Sarah Andersen's Twitter/Instagram page, so it didn't feel like new content, but it was still a fun little graphic novel。 Thanks to Netgalley for the ARCAs usual, reading any PDF through Netgalley's app is a struggle -- paging down pages back up, turning the page shoots you back several pages -- but formatting aside, this is a cute comic。 It collects the Cryptid Club comic strips that I've read before on Sarah Andersen's Twitter/Instagram page, so it didn't feel like new content, but it was still a fun little graphic novel。 。。。more

What a fun collection of comics! If you are a fan of cryptids - or even just cute, clever webcomics - this is a fantastic read。 You've likely come across Sarah Andersen's comics online, even if you might not have known at the time - I wouldn't have recognized the artist's name, but I definitely recognized a comic or two once I started reading。 This volume collects a number of strips about cryptids and their escapades, including celebrities (gasp!) such as Mothman, Nessie, and extraterrestrials。 What a fun collection of comics! I loved Cryptid Club! This was not much of a surprise though, given how much I love Sarah Andersen’s other works。 The artwork is on point and seriously so cute。 I am a sucker for supernatural creatures and she is always able to make what should be the creepiest creature, into an adorable cartoon。 The jokes are hilarious and often make sense to the specific cryptid。 Do yourself a favor and pick this one up if you love delightfully silly comics! I am terribly sad that Sarah Andersen decided to make this only a limited series because I absolutely LOVE it。 The cryptids are SO cute, the little stories are heartwarming and funny, and I could read them all day。 Glad this collection contains a few comics that were not in the original run also!

I have been a fan of Sarah Andersen's for several years now, having first discovered her Sarah's Scribbles comics。 I was so excited when she announced her new Cryptid Club series and now a Cryptid Club book is coming out in just a couple of weeks。 I loved reading these comics。 They were so much fun to read and put a fun spin on the cryptids, like Bigfoot having social anxiety and Slenderman being self-conscious of having no face。 The comics are hilarious and the artwork is fantastic。 Thank you t I have been a fan of Sarah Andersen's for several years now, having first discovered her Sarah's Scribbles comics。 I was so excited when she announced her new Cryptid Club series and now a Cryptid Club book is coming out in just a couple of weeks。 I loved reading these comics。 They were so much fun to read and put a fun spin on the cryptids, like Bigfoot having social anxiety and Slenderman being self-conscious of having no face。 The comics are hilarious and the artwork is fantastic。 Thank you to Edelweiss and Andrew McMeel Publishing for this digital ARC。 。。。more

Weird。 Hilarious。VERY twisted。 V E R Y。 If you love Sarah Andersen, you will love this [much] darker version of her work。 I laughed。 I shook my head at some of the horrible [but hilarious] puns。 It lifted my spirits, in SPITE of its weirdness。 I look forward to more of these from the author - she is so talented and I really love whatever she does。 Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Andersen, and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review。

I absolutely loved Sarah Andersons 'Fangs' so I was so excited to pick up her new release 'Cryptid Club'。This collection of vignettes into the lives of the cryptids (an animal whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as the yeti。) made me laugh and aw at pretty much every page。 The illustration style was vibrant and colourful and the execution was hilariously brilliant。 This will be a great addition to any bookshelf!Buddy read with @booksandbygones via facetime。 I absolutely loved Sarah Andersons 'Fangs' so I was so excited to pick up her new release 'Cryptid Club'。This collection of vignettes into the lives of the cryptids (an animal whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as the yeti。) made me laugh and aw at pretty much every page。 The illustration style was vibrant and colourful and the execution was hilariously brilliant。 This will be a great addition to any bookshelf!Buddy read with @booksandbygones via facetime。 。。。more

Do you know any cryptids? What is a cryptid? According to the dictionary: it is an animal that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist。 An example would be Bigfoot。 This graphic novel has many different cryptids。 It’s been fun to see the different activities they did or didn’t do。 I loved seeing the different cryptids that I had not heard of 。 The illustrations are colorful and bright。 Nothing in this graphic novel is scarey as they are not portrayed as bad or mean。 Have fun reading Do you know any cryptids? This spooky little comic collection had me laughing out loud! I adore Sarah Anderson’s art style and sense of humor。 I also really liked how some of the comic connected, and provided “mini plots” throughout。 Sometimes comic collections can feel jumbled or choppy, but this one was absolutely perfect。

This book is beyond adorable。 And hilarious, I absolutely enjoyed reading it。 The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wanted more of a story and not just a collection of short comics。 These clearly take place in the same world and there are threads of common story lines but no overarching storyline。 I'll happily read anything by Sarah Andersen。 eARC received from the publisher via Edelweiss+ in exchange for an honest review。 This book is beyond adorable。 And hilarious, I absolutely enjoyed reading it。 The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wanted more of a story and not just a collection of short comics。 These clearly take place in the same world and there are threads of common story lines but no overarching storyline。 I'll happily read anything by Sarah Andersen。 eARC received from the publisher via Edelweiss+ in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more
