This was so freaking good！ BUT THAT CLIFFHANGER IS TORTURE！！！！ I cannot believe I have to wait for the third book， this may be the most torturous cliff hanger I’ve ever encountered in a book。 But the third book is going to be incredible， I can already tell！ I love Eva and Jacks so much and the magnificent north is such a magical setting。 Even all the side characters is amazing。 I actually never read the Caraval series， but now I’m going to go start it and I can’t wait！

“Not every love is meant to be。” 5/5 ⭐️The Ballad of Never After is the second installment to the Once Upon A Broken Heart series。 The book picks up right where the first book left off where Jacks， The Prince of Hearts， betrays the main character Evangeline。 Evangeline has just discovered her own magical abilities when a new curse is revealed， and finds herself entering into a partnership with Jacks where they will have to face new foes and magic that plays with the head and heart。 If you follow “Not every love is meant to be。” 5/5 ⭐️The Ballad of Never After is the second installment to the Once Upon A Broken Heart series。 The book picks up right where the first book left off where Jacks， The Prince of Hearts， betrays the main character Evangeline。 Evangeline has just discovered her own magical abilities when a new curse is revealed， and finds herself entering into a partnership with Jacks where they will have to face new foes and magic that plays with the head and heart。 If you follow me on any of my socials， you know how I’m love I am with this series and how much it means to me！ This was my most anticipated release along with Kingdom of the Feared and it did not disappoint！ This book was everything I hoped it would be and I dove right into the story the minute I had it in my hands！ Stephanie’s writing is absolutely gorgeous and never fails to draw me in。 The writing transports the reader to a dreamy fairytale world filled with magic and fantasy that is so easy to immerse yourself in。 If you’ve read Once Upon A Broken Heart， I have no doubt that you are already head over heels in love with Jacks and Evangeline！ I was thrilled that we were able to learn more about the mysterious fate， Jacks， past through Evangeline’s eyes。 We are also given a look into Evangeline’s internal struggle with being able to trust others after being disappointed and hurt by so many that have been close to her。 We get more depth to her character that I loved！ The twists and turns that are thrown our way are incredible If you love the tropes enemies to lovers and slow burn romances， this is definitely a book/series for you！ The tension and pining in this book is so frustrating and swoon worthy！ I cannot recommend this series enough， it is one of my absolute favorites that is constantly on my mind！ This is Stephanie’s best book yet， filled with so many plot twists I didn’t see coming and I know I’ll be daydreaming about it forever！ 。。。more

i'm in recovery and my weakness for emotionally stunted magical boys with golden hair （Jace and now Jacks too？！） has struck again。 a ten out of five any day of the week。 I read this in just over 24 hours。 Starting right where Once Upon a Broken Heart left off， you're instantly thrown back into the story， feeling oh-too-strongly everything Evangeline is feeling - willing her to stay out of trouble and save her own poor heart， but also begging for her and Jacks to admit to each other their feeling i'm in recovery and my weakness for emotionally stunted magical boys with golden hair （Jace and now Jacks too？！） has struck again。 a ten out of five any day of the week。 I read this in just over 24 hours。 Starting right where Once Upon a Broken Heart left off， you're instantly thrown back into the story， feeling oh-too-strongly everything Evangeline is feeling - willing her to stay out of trouble and save her own poor heart， but also begging for her and Jacks to admit to each other their feelings。 A slow burn enemies to actively-denying-their-feelings to almost lovers， every crumb Garber gave felt like it meant everything and more。 Full of twists and turns， fleshing out the world and the lore more whilst never letting you be too comfortable on the characters' true natures， it perfectly （if frustratingly） sets up the next in the series。 Be prepared to feel that soul-achingly emptiness of finishing the most gripping book and knowing you have to wait a *long* time to get the answers and the pay-off you want。 also， just because Stephanie Garber has the best dedications:"for anyone who has ever feared they won't find true love" 。。。more

A great second book that lives up to the magic and wonder of the first。 I love the story， world and characters Garber has created with this series。 It’s much more compelling and whimsical than Caraval （in my opinion）。 I hope it ends up being a trilogy vs a duo。 Team Jacks forever
