Summary

What does joy sound like?

Does it sound like falling snow, or a kiss on your cheek? Award-winning recording artist Ellie Holcomb explores this question through a delightful collection of Christmastime scenes, leading up to the discovery that joy sounds like the angels singing that Jesus had been born。

Ellie will be releasing children’s music as a companion to this board book。 Her sweet and lovely celebration of Christmas encourages each reader, young and old, to lift up their voice and repeat sounding joy!

An adorable book that gives a little bit about Christmas, though admittedly it doesn’t actually tell about the birth of Jesus。 There is also one small picture of a baby intended to be Jesus, just a heads up for those that have a conviction against that。 Another one that would be good for kids under 6。

This holiday picture book talks about the idea of sounding joy。 With a number of fun activities and religious scenes pictured, this book will make a lovely addition to a family’s Christmas book collection。 I would recommend this to parents of children in the age 4-7 range who celebrate Christmas。

What a lovely Christmas book。 It’s a quick and easy book for kids that not only gets us to look at what may bring us everyday joy, but in Christmas time, it’s a reminder of what joy we’ve been given by God。 The illustrations I thought were wonderful。 Really fun to look at and to read, nice rhythm and rhyme and an overall great story。 Would definitely recommend this to other friends and family。I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy。

The book opens asking what kinds of things bring joy, and then talks about the amazing joy that Jesus' birth brought on the first Christmas。The heart of this book is beautiful and the illustrations are adorable。 I have really loved all of Holcomb's books to date。 I read an ARC from the publisher and Netgalley of this and have recommended to the publisher that 2 lines be changed before publication。 One talked about Jesus being born on a winter's night which most Bible scholars believe is not hist The book opens asking what kinds of things bring joy, and then talks about the amazing joy that Jesus' birth brought on the first Christmas。The heart of this book is beautiful and the illustrations are adorable。 I have really loved all of Holcomb's books to date。 I read an ARC from the publisher and Netgalley of this and have recommended to the publisher that 2 lines be changed before publication。 One talked about Jesus being born on a winter's night which most Bible scholars believe is not historically accurate, and the second was a line saying we put up Christmas lights to remind us of the shining of the angels as they announced Jesus' birth to the shepherds。 I think a lot of Christian families might have issues with that as in most Christian homes Christmas lights symbolize Jesus as the light of the world, not the angels (and really the source of their light was the glory of God)。 Hopefully they can change those 2 things before going to print because if they do so it'll be an amazing little Christmas book with a solid Christian message of Jesus being the source of joy and why we talk about joy so much as Christmas time。I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Thanks to Netgalley and B&H Kids for a free digital copy。A beautiful book in both message and visually about what joy is。 Simple enough for kids to understand without diluting the message of the joy brought to earth at Christmas through the birth of Jesus。

This was a very sweet Christmas Story。 I loved the rhymes and the illustrations were very good。 I loved how the coloring complemented the season。I really liked that kids of colors and with disabilities were represented in the book。The religious component wasn’t heavy and I appreciated it。 A very sweet story!
