Great series starter Ms。 Elks is a great storyteller and Strictly Business is a terrific example of her ability to craft an entertaining read。 From two people who seemingly didn't like each other， Ava and Myles went from surliness at work to getting to know each other through the surprising personal offer Myles makes to help make Ava's dreams come true。 I devoured this book， it made me smile， it was well written， perfectly paced and a great opening to Ms。 Elks new Salinger Brothers series。 Don't Great series starter Ms。 Elks is a great storyteller and Strictly Business is a terrific example of her ability to craft an entertaining read。 From two people who seemingly didn't like each other， Ava and Myles went from surliness at work to getting to know each other through the surprising personal offer Myles makes to help make Ava's dreams come true。 I devoured this book， it made me smile， it was well written， perfectly paced and a great opening to Ms。 Elks new Salinger Brothers series。 Don't miss the bonus epilogue， a teasing taste of what's to come。 。。。more

I received an ARC for a honest review。 I honestly loved this book， it’s kind of an enemies to lovers but not if that makes any sense？ Ava and Myles are forced to work together in a fairly ‘hostile’ environment in that Myles is temporarily transferred to work with Ava in the Publishing house where she works but she doesn’t know this as she’s been away on holiday （vacation）。 They are both attracted to each other but won’t admit it at first until the tables turn and Myles and Ava come to an agreeme I received an ARC for a honest review。 I honestly loved this book， it’s kind of an enemies to lovers but not if that makes any sense？ Ava and Myles are forced to work together in a fairly ‘hostile’ environment in that Myles is temporarily transferred to work with Ava in the Publishing house where she works but she doesn’t know this as she’s been away on holiday （vacation）。 They are both attracted to each other but won’t admit it at first until the tables turn and Myles and Ava come to an agreement that will mean they will get closer to each other。 Lots of chemistry and banter。 The writing，as always， by Carrie is excellent and you can’t help but fall in love with the characters even if one may come across initially as a bit of a pig！ Fantastic series and I cannot wait for the next instalment。 。。。more

Myles？。。Yes？…What do you need？ …You。 Always you ❤️4。5 ⭐️*ARC Review*💼 Enemies to Lovers🍼 Workplace Romance💼 Grumpy/SunshineI love me some steamy rom-com small town romances and this one is one I would go back to。 Myles and Ava gave me fantastic enemies to lovers vibe， but secretly Myles is really a softie。。。especially when it comes to Ava。Ava is in her late-thirties and has decided to try to have a baby on her own。 She comes back to the office after a vacation before she starts her process an Myles？。。Yes？…What do you need？ …You。 Always you ❤️4。5 ⭐️*ARC Review*💼 Enemies to Lovers🍼 Workplace Romance💼 Grumpy/SunshineI love me some steamy rom-com small town romances and this one is one I would go back to。 Myles and Ava gave me fantastic enemies to lovers vibe， but secretly Myles is really a softie。。。especially when it comes to Ava。Ava is in her late-thirties and has decided to try to have a baby on her own。 She comes back to the office after a vacation before she starts her process and none other than her arch nemesis is waiting for her in her office。 This starts to throw things a little off for her， especially since there is something about Myles that she likes just as much as she hates。 Myles in a New Yorker coming into the small town Charleston with his no nonsense demeanor which isn’t quite jiving with the locals that work for him so that means Ava has to be the intermediary more often than not。 Working together doesn’t quite warm them up to each other but there’s still a little spark nonetheless。 So what happens when your enemy finds out your baby plans and tries to insert himself into the process…。you avoid him and try to pretend it didn’t happen。 Unfortunately that doesn’t work well， and when an agreement is made these two have to stop hating each other and work together for the good of the cause。 Let the insanity begin！ I loved this different play on a “pregnancy trope” where Ava is trying to get pregnant but Myles won’t let her do it on her own。 Myles was such a great guy and I was so rooting for him。 We also have some great side characters like Liam， Myles’s brother and Sophie and Lauren who are Ava’s besties。 They all brought some great humor to the story especially when Myles and his 5 brothers compete in their annual Salinger Olympics。 Ugh such a good time！ And I’m already dying for book two where playboy Liam and hardheaded Sophie go at it。 So if you love small town romances and flirty banter with a snide of snark， then pick this one up！！ 。。。more

This is the first book of a new series you'll definitely want to pick up！Ava has just returned from a well-deserved holiday in Spain， during which she's made some important decisions。 Single at 37， she realizes her dating pool is very limited （so relatable - did the author read some of my tweets on the subject？）。 Seeing as she does want a baby， she has decided to get inseminated and be a single mom。Her positive bubble bursts upon her return to the small publishing firm where she works， when she This is the first book of a new series you'll definitely want to pick up！Ava has just returned from a well-deserved holiday in Spain， during which she's made some important decisions。 Single at 37， she realizes her dating pool is very limited （so relatable - did the author read some of my tweets on the subject？）。 Seeing as she does want a baby， she has decided to get inseminated and be a single mom。Her positive bubble bursts upon her return to the small publishing firm where she works， when she finds out her boss has retired during her absence， and her nemesis is overseeing things for now。Ava and Myles had a rough start when the New York publishing house where he works bought the small Charleston firm where she works。 She finds him cold and distant， while he doesn't understand the company atmosphere in Charleston。Circumstances force them together and they get to know each other better。 Then Myles drops a bombshell: to be the donor for Ava's baby。 What starts out as a pretty straightforward agreement soon gets muddled， though， when feelings rear their ugly head and lines get blurred。While this is a bit of a slow burn， there's plenty of tension to tide you over。 And don't forget the secondary characters， from Ava's loyal best friends， her co-workers， as well as her hilariously outspoken activist mother， to Myles' large family。I couldn't put this book down and look forward to the next in the series！ 。。。more

This was such a fun， light read， I enjoyed it from beginning to end。 I laughed loads throughout the story and found I just wanted to pick the book up again to see what would happen next。 As with all Carrie Elks books， it is well written， flows well and has great characters。I just loved both the two main characters， Ava and Myles， they really came to life for me and I loved their to and fro emotions and their dialogue too。 Myles comes across as a bit of a grump and a hard-nosed businessman but un This was such a fun， light read， I enjoyed it from beginning to end。 I laughed loads throughout the story and found I just wanted to pick the book up again to see what would happen next。 As with all Carrie Elks books， it is well written， flows well and has great characters。I just loved both the two main characters， Ava and Myles， they really came to life for me and I loved their to and fro emotions and their dialogue too。 Myles comes across as a bit of a grump and a hard-nosed businessman but underneath he really is caring。 I loved Ava for her determination and happy disposition。 She definitely made me smile。The secondary characters were great too and made the story come to life。 Ava’s best friends， Sophie and Lauren， had me laughing so much and they are so loyal to her， which I loved。 Her Mum was lovely and a real hoot but so sweet。 Myles's two brothers were just right and a good foil for him too。This is the perfect read when you want to just relax and while away a few hours。 There is no angst， just some good old misunderstanding， romance and laughs。 I thoroughly enjoyed reading it。 。。。more
