The pictures were amazing but there was a piece of info in there that was condescending to other info and I cant move past that so 3 stars from me。

This is a beautiful reference book for kids! My mother-in-law introduced me to this series and I fell hard and fast。 The illustrations are so well done they look like photographs in all the best ways。 The facts are bite-size for kids and easy to digest。 There is a wide variety of animals highlighted and these are pages I would frame and put on their wall。 So well done! I can’t wait to see the rest of this series!

I read this with my little one over several days。 We liked the big images that allowed us to take a closer look at the details of the animals。 This is fun because it has bulleted information and a fact file。 My seven year old loves fact files or fun facts when we are reading books。 This is right up her alley。

Fantastically well written and great photos!

Over-sized book with large pictures。 Good information, nice pictures that compare the animal size to the human size。

I liked how you could learn from this book。 My favorite animal to learn about was the wolverine。 I learned that it can steal a polar bear's food。 I liked how you could learn from this book。 My favorite animal to learn about was the wolverine。 I learned that it can steal a polar bear's food。 。。。more

Amazing book! This book is oversized so it won't fit on your traditional shelves but it is worth every extra inch。 This book showcases the most amazing mammals with illustrations that you will think are photographs。 Each animal is spread out on a full two page spread and they give about 6 facts for each one so it isn't overwhelming。 Their is also a small square at the bottom of one of the pages that give some fast facts and a height comparison to humans。 This book really is Magnificent and would Amazing book! Uses beautifully detailed illustrations rather than photographs which is very refreshing and cause you to linger over each page。 Very reminiscent of 18th & 19th century natural history books。 Facts are set out using animal shaped bullets and use simple, accessible language suitable for even young children。 My 5 year old was fascinated and it kept him engaged。 All in all a beautiful non-fiction book that is well worth getting hold of and having a look。
