Summary

From USA Today bestselling author Pippa Grant comes a fabulously sharp-witted romantic comedy about a socialite’s fall from elitist grace to backcountry purgatory—and her accidental tumble into love。

If the Upper East Side had an evil twin, it would be Tickled Pink, Wisconsin。 This run-down, backwoods town isn’t worthy of the footprint of my Louboutins, never mind all of me。

But when my grandmother has a near-death experience and realizes we Lightlys can’t buy our way into heaven, she relocates the family to Tickled Pink to work on improving our souls。 And that’s how I trade my heiress existence for gigantic bugs, dishwater coffee, and a cranky single dad named Teague Miller。

Teague spends his days fishing, raising his spunky teenager, and after an unfortunate incident involving cheese curds, living rent-free in my head。 The one thing he and I can agree on is that I don’t belong here。 He’s willing to help me escape—until the unexpected happens。

I kind of like him。 I might even more than like him。

But am I ready to give up the life I adored for a man I love to hate?

Absolute must read。I laughed and cackled (yes cackled) during this book。 It gave me all the feels, was such a great read, and I am so mad that it’s over。 Bring me book two!

This story was not what I was expecting from Pippa, having read all her others, but I really enjoyed it。 The romance, the love, the sarcasm, the laughter, the tears, the character growth。 I enjoyed all of it!

This book is all that and a mixed bag of nuts, the Lightly family。 If you are like me and need a good laugh, this is the book for you。 It is the tale of a family who has way too much money and not enough common decency in their lives。 On the other hand, we have a town where the folks are full of common sense and decency and could use a shot of extra funds。 It sounds like they are made for each other and some of the folks are。 Author Pippa Grant has once again given us the readers a book that kee This book is all that and a mixed bag of nuts, the Lightly family。 If you are like me and need a good laugh, this is the book for you。 It is the tale of a family who has way too much money and not enough common decency in their lives。 On the other hand, we have a town where the folks are full of common sense and decency and could use a shot of extra funds。 It sounds like they are made for each other and some of the folks are。 Author Pippa Grant has once again given us the readers a book that keeps us tied to the pages。 A book that reads like a movie, no more like a Netflix show and I do mean this one is really ready for them to come a knocking on her door。 Grab your drink of choice, this book and settle in for the ride of your life to Tickle Pink and escape for a while。 。。。more

So different to the other Pippa books I’ve read, and I think I’ve read them all! But still so full of laughs, love and redemption。 Flawed characters behaving in flawed ways, but written so tenderly and with such care that you can’t help but love them。

Left with no defenses and a woman who can reveal his skeletons so carefully concealed so long ago。 City vs country, opposites attract, rich vs not, all combined with humor, wacky shenanigans and a couple who won't admit how they really feel for each other。 Tickled Pink is a crazy town with crazy but lovable residents。 The best of them is Teague's precocious daughter, Bridget。 Her parents and stepmom are almost as awesome as she is, but she's definitely the scene stealer。 I have to admit, though, that it took me a long way into this story to finally start liking Phoebe。 Her spoiled act was not working for me, at all, and I was wondering if this woman was going to redeem herself in my eyes。 Thankfully she sorta did, but not until late in the game。 Still though, the story and the writing were fun and funny, their chemistry is hot, and I am actually looking forward to more from this family and the other residents of Tickled Pink。 ARC provided by author for an honest review。Review: Live Through Books Blog。Blog | Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | Bookbub 。。。more

I loved every moment of this hilariously cute Schitts Creek type romcom with all the wacky towns people and the snobby Lightlys。 I just love the whole grump meets sunshine trope and add in the fact that its a big city girl falling for the small town hero and I was totally sold!。。Phoebe was the best leading lady ever! I loved that she was so real and had a sense of relatability to her and I just loved that she out in the work to bettering herself, so much so that she soon realised that she didn’t like the person that she had been all her life。 I just loved getting to see her grow as a person but also grow her relationships with her family and really find herself。 I loved getting to see her finally bond with Tavi and Carter。 But most of all I loved getting to see her relationship with Teague and his family bloom。。。Teague was an interest one, for all intents he looked like he had his life together but boy did he have skeletons of his own that only came tumbling out thanks to the Lightlys being in town。 I really liked getting to see a bit of his back story and how similar it was to that of Phoebe。 I loved the connection that these two formed and that their insta dislike morphed into such a hot connection, I loved that they formed this support for each other without even realising it。。。The secondary characters were top notch! I just loved all the sass and power that came from Bridget and that she had such a unique story of her own but rocked her truths! As for the rest of the residents of TP well they were just hilarious and I can not wait to get more of them and their rivalry with Deer Drop。 Now the Lightlys well it took a bit to warm up to this bunch but gosh it was hard to hate them, I loved that Gigi put them through so much but didn’t follow herself and that Tavi and Carter kind of found their way while being in town。 We definitely need their books soon!!。。The One Who Loves You is a total must read, this book checks all the boxes and then some! 。。。more

It might be the best book by this author that I’ve read。 It definitely has her unique touch, but the usual ingredients combined so well that the end result has the most amazing flavor。One of the author’s trademarks is her quirky characters。 I don’t think there was even one remotely boring character this time。 The Lightlys are their own brand of crazy, from Gigi to Carter–all of them so detached from reality that they can’t understand the small town life–and the people from Tickled Pink are all u It might be the best book by this author that I’ve read。 It definitely has her unique touch, but the usual ingredients combined so well that the end result has the most amazing flavor。One of the author’s trademarks is her quirky characters。 I don’t think there was even one remotely boring character this time。 The Lightlys are their own brand of crazy, from Gigi to Carter–all of them so detached from reality that they can’t understand the small town life–and the people from Tickled Pink are all unique in some way。 Even Teague, maybe the most normal of the lot, has a sass and sense of humor that keeps him apart。I really enjoyed him as a character。 Beyond the wit and the extreme grumpiness, he has a huge heart and lots of love for the people who surround him。 He just loves his peace and quiet more–and for legitimate reasons。 I guessed early what his big secret was, though not all the details, and that made him even more interesting。As for his love interest, and the main character of the book–as her arc is at the center of the story–Phoebe is weirdly relatable。 Not that any of us readers is a rich socialite thrown in a small town and forced to adapt, of course。 But as a woman who’s wondering who she is, and trying to separate nature and nurture, she’s somewhat of an example。 Her journey touched me like I hadn’t been by a book in a while。Another trademark is the humor。 This book was hilarious。 It came from the situations–for instance, rich spoiled people forced to do menial tasks that they have no idea how to do–but not only。 The dialogues, full of sass and banter, caused some laughs too, as did the quirky characters。 And the humor works even better surrounded by deep emotions。As the introduction to a new series, of course this book had a lot of subplots that’ll be explored in the following books。 It worked well because it gave a purpose to the side characters beyond helping or preventing the romance between Phoebe and Teague。I noticed something that doesn’t happen a lot。 In lots of stories, the characters’ voices are just some variation of the author’s voice。 Here, each of the main characters had their own voice。 The vocabulary, the grammar, the references… They weren’t the same between Phoebe and Teague, for instance。And I have no doubt that it’s one of the reasons I became so attached to them。 They felt real, and I just wanted to see their happy ending。 And it was a good one!Quickie- Series: Tickled Pink #1 (can be read as a standalone)- Hashtags: #romcom #enemies to lovers #opposites attract #secret relationship- Triggers: some psychological abuse I suppose- Main couple: Phoebe Lightly & Teague Miller- Hotness: 3/5- Romance: 4/5- + how Bridget’s identity is treated- – I wish a painful death on Gigi 。。。more

I give this Pippa book all the stars。 I laughed so hard, cried a little and loved the characters so much。 As a born and raised Wisconsinite, I loved all the things that made me homesick for my own small town, fishing, fish boils/fries, and the cheese curds especially! This book was unique and oh so fun!! I love fish out of water stories。 This one was combined with grumpy sunshine! Sign me up!! I loved the character arcs for both Phoebe and Teague。 Lots of good growth!! This book was well written, and I’m aching for more in the series! This was my first book by this author but definitely won’t be my last。 Huge thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book!

Quirky, cute rom-comPhoebe is a true fish out of water, stuck in small town nowhere by her crusading grandmother and missing Manhattan with every breath。 Teague is the epitome of the small town grump and has no time nor patience for the stuck up city girl who might as well be from another planet。 If you're thinking this is going to be just like all the usual opposites-attract stories, you're mostly right。 The humor is a little more slapstick than suits my preferences, but for others it might be Quirky, cute rom-comPhoebe is a true fish out of water, stuck in small town nowhere by her crusading grandmother and missing Manhattan with every breath。 Teague is the epitome of the small town grump and has no time nor patience for the stuck up city girl who might as well be from another planet。 If you're thinking this is going to be just like all the usual opposites-attract stories, you're mostly right。 The humor is a little more slapstick than suits my preferences, but for others it might be exactly what they're looking for。 The characters are endearing once you get to know them, and the quality of the writing elevates it above the typical rom-com。 Lessons are learned, hearts are joined, families are defined and redefined, and the HEA nicely closes out this trip to Tickled Pink, Wisconsin。 I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book。 。。。more

The One Who Loves You was a treat to read。 It’s a lot of what I’ve come to expect from a Pippa Grant book, while just a smidge turned down。 This book features a dual POV between Phoebe and Teague our main characters。 Phoebe is a fish out of water in every way as her Grandmother had a life threatening incident and demands that the family retreat to Wisconsin for a year to reform their ways。 There Phoebe truly discovers herself while getting to know Teague。 There is plenty of funny parts in this b The One Who Loves You was a treat to read。 It’s a lot of what I’ve come to expect from a Pippa Grant book, while just a smidge turned down。 This book features a dual POV between Phoebe and Teague our main characters。 Phoebe is a fish out of water in every way as her Grandmother had a life threatening incident and demands that the family retreat to Wisconsin for a year to reform their ways。 There Phoebe truly discovers herself while getting to know Teague。 There is plenty of funny parts in this book plus is has so much heart band love。 There is a lot to love about this book! Teague is a single Dad and is great with his daughter and gets along with his ex and the ex’s spouse, which is great to read about。 5 stars! 。。。more

Teague and Phoebe are PERFECT! Not going to lie, I genuinely love everything I've read from this author, and I have read nearly all her books so picking this up was a no brainer。 Fans of hers will recognize the fun snarky humor, absolute craziness, super hot sexy times, and a LOT of personal reflection and growth amidst the chaos。 I am a personal fan of the small town mentality, and this one is no exception, though as I've lived in a small town in WI it might hold a special place in my heart。 Al Teague and Phoebe are PERFECT! Phoebe and Teague's antagonistic love story was spicy, heartwarming, and, at times, utterly insane。。。I really enjoyed Phoebe's character in this book。 She quickly took to the task of finding out who she really was as a person, and realized fairly immediately that she did not like what she saw。 Life in New York quickly falls away, and even though she has to deal with the insanity that is her entire family, Phoebe embraces the people of Tickled Pink。。。 including one very grumpy, goat farmer。。。 Teague is a simple man who lives in a tree house and loves to fish, and he had the best relationship with his highly entertaining daughter and his ex-wife。 For all of his prickly exterior, I loved that Teague was unwaveringly loyal and protective, even when it came to Phoebe, who he was not yet completely sure that he liked! This book was a silly and entertaining read。 The crazy small town antics mixed with the equally insane Lightly family made for non-stop laugh out loud moments, while the romance between Phoebe and Teague was sexy, endearing, and transformative for them both。This is the first book in the Tickled Pink series, and I can't wait to see what is in store for the characters in this sweet, yet crazy town。。。I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review。Check out the Blog!http://nightbirdnovels。com/2022/07/11。。。Follow Me on InstagramFollow Me on FacebookFollow Me on Twitter 。。。more

The One Who Loves You begins a new series with a fish out of water trope, where a rich NYC socialite finds herself stuck in a small town with the real folks。 I generally like Pippa Grant's work, having previously read over 15 books from her, across several different series。 She is a successful writer of comedic, contemporary romance and her books are easy to get into。 In the past, I've loved some of her stories that hit the right balance of funny/sexy for me, but also found others too ridiculous The One Who Loves You begins a new series with a fish out of water trope, where a rich NYC socialite finds herself stuck in a small town with the real folks。 I generally like Pippa Grant's work, having previously read over 15 books from her, across several different series。 She is a successful writer of comedic, contemporary romance and her books are easy to get into。 In the past, I've loved some of her stories that hit the right balance of funny/sexy for me, but also found others too ridiculously silly for my liking。 This book was not as silly as some, but definitely ridiculous, plot-wise。 I liked the locals in the town, and especially the supporting character Bridget。 I never grew to like the main character Phoebe or any of her family, and wasn't able to connect with her redemption journey。 I found the hero, Teague, under-developed and a little dull。 His interesting bits came too late in the story。 A lot of excessive character personal thoughts slowed down the flow of the narrative, sometimes pages and pages of it, in the midst of dialogue scenes。 The story doesn't really go anywhere, several plot threads are started and dropped, and while there were parts I enjoyed, it didn't add up to a meaningful whole。 I also have to mention the cover -and I realize that is a publisher choice and not necessarily an author choice - but come on, this guy on the cover doesn't match up, description wise or especially age wise, for the hero。 Distracts and detracts。The One Who Loves You was not a favorite for me from Pippa Grant, but I will continue to read her in the future。Thank you to Montlake via Netgalley for the ARC。 All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own。 。。。more
