This edition， specifically， is made for gullible kids and dumbs down the book by trying to make it fun and relevant or some shit。 I have a lot of bottled up resentment from sunday school。

Though I have to admit I like the NASB Bible more， this Bible holds a lot of significance for me。 It was my first real Bible。 I remember going to Sunday School with one of those picture storybook Bibles when the teacher told us to bring our Bibles， and was regretfully told that this was the wrong sort of Bible。 So my parents faithfully bought me this one。I read this particular Bible twice。 The first time I finished by September 23， 2006 and the second time on June 7， 2008。 My motive to begin was Though I have to admit I like the NASB Bible more， this Bible holds a lot of significance for me。 It was my first real Bible。 I remember going to Sunday School with one of those picture storybook Bibles when the teacher told us to bring our Bibles， and was regretfully told that this was the wrong sort of Bible。 So my parents faithfully bought me this one。I read this particular Bible twice。 The first time I finished by September 23， 2006 and the second time on June 7， 2008。 My motive to begin was that well， since I am a Christian， and the Bible is our Scripture， why shouldn't I read the whole thing？ I discovered that actually many Christians have not read the entire Bible， which astounded me， so I decided in my little 9-year-old heart of hearts to finish the thick volume， though it may take years。I read the Bible everyday。 My grandparents--one of the select few who had actually read through the Bible several times over--advised me to read the Old Testament and the New Testament together， which I did the first time。 When I completely finished the Bible， I was satisfied。 I had finished！ I didn't need to continue reading it since I've reached my goal。 But those rushed hours when I did read it now felt extremely empty， prodding me to reread this Bible along with all the little footnotes， and I succeeded once again。I am currently reading the Bible for the 3rd time in my NASB study Bible which is much more informative and helps me understand the Bible better， yet at the same time drives me crazy because it has SO MANY NOTES AND FOOTNOTES AND MAPS AND DIAGRAMS AND CHARTS。 But at the same time， I'm gaining new understanding of God's purpose in my life。I would definitely recommend this Bible to anyone！！！ It was perfect for a child my age with plenty of for-kids explanations， little biographies on important biblical figures， activities， maps， a concordance， and much more！ Happy reading to all！ 。。。more
