Vicki Stanley

good bookWish it would talk about effects of being a couch potato besides missing out on the outside like Health effects。

My 5 year old son was absolutely entranced!

Super cute - outside is pretty awesome。。。occasionally

This book is hilarious! My seven and four year old were engaged from the very beginning。 I love how it takes current trends and includes them in a kids book。 They can completely relate to everything that was in there。 I love it!!!!

Even though this is a children’s picture book, I extremely enjoyed it and found myself relating to the couch potato myself。 At the beginning, I wished I had a machine that would do everything for me and I wouldn’t have to get up even but after finishing the book, I realized that the potato was right: going outdoors and not staying glued to your seat is healthy and essential。

I love this 'bad seed' series chock full of puns by Jory John。 I love these cute stories and this one has a great message。I wish my nephew and niece were young enough to give this a read, but they don't want to read kids books any more。 Both of them spend so much time on screens。 I wish they would go out and do more in the world, be kids。 They are growing up too fast and spend too much time on screens, in my opinion。 The potato has everything to veg on the couch until one day the power goes out I love this 'bad seed' series chock full of puns by Jory John。 I love these cute stories and this one has a great message。I wish my nephew and niece were young enough to give this a read, but they don't want to read kids books any more。 Both of them spend so much time on screens。 I wish they would go out and do more in the world, be kids。 They are growing up too fast and spend too much time on screens, in my opinion。 The potato has everything to veg on the couch until one day the power goes out and so he goes outside。 Jory doesn't want to cut out screens all together, but he does push for a balance between playing outside and screens。Anyway, another hit by Jory。 I loved this。 Puns thrill me。 。。。more

[ Rating: 3。5 out of 5 ] The Potato loves nothing more than spending all its free time hanging out on the couch because it’s comfy, cozy, and all it needs is within reach。 Oof how relatable, haha! Potato has a pretty sweet setup established, so doesn’t have to move much。 Until a power outage forces Potato…。OUTSIDE (gasp!)。I liked how MC rediscovers the joys of the outside world and basks in the fresh air。 You could say this book is social commentary on being glued to electronics or too much time [ Rating: 3。5 out of 5 ] The Potato loves nothing more than spending all its free time hanging out on the couch because it’s comfy, cozy, and all it needs is within reach。 Oof how relatable, haha! compelling case for the real world as told by a potato

Fun to read aloud for primary。 A couch potato loses electricity and is forced outside only to realize that he enjoys it。

Read this with my niece! Such a good message for kids and adults!

This book seems like a great way to entice people to take a step away from technology and reconnect with nature。 This would be a great book to pair with a mindfulness moment - having kids go outside and be present in the moment。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 its a good book its about this potato that love to sit on the couch and play video games and watch tv but one day he went out side and he also loved to be out side and go on hikes bike rides play hide in-seek and he still still plays video games after a long day

This is a fun book that encourages kids to be active and get outside。 As much as we all love staying in and being a couch potato, everyone needs some fresh air sometimes and this cute book explains that。

The timing of this was unfortunate (during the pandemic, when kids were *supposed* to stay indoors and had to use screens to socialize), but even without that, it's a little judgmental。 You can find a healthy balance in life without hating the things you do that Jory John has decided are shameful。 Yes, go out and live, but also shame isn't part of a healthy mental state either。 The timing of this was unfortunate (during the pandemic, when kids were *supposed* to stay indoors and had to use screens to socialize), but even without that, it's a little judgmental。 You can find a healthy balance in life without hating the things you do that Jory John has decided are shameful。 Yes, go out and live, but also shame isn't part of a healthy mental state either。 。。。more

Jory John and Pete Oswald have done it again! I loved this one about getting off the couch and off of screens。 It encourages kids to get outside and interact in person with people。 I feel like maybe I needed that lesson too。 I am going to share this with my younger grade students before they leave for the summer。 It would also be great to go along with digital citizenship lessons about device time management。 Highly recommend this whole series to anyone with youngsters。 My students LOVE them, an Jory John and Pete Oswald have done it again! This book was too cute and funny。 I loved how it showed that when we just lay around on the couch that we are missing so much when we actually go outside。
