Summary

NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR

“Take my word for it, James Reece is one rowdy motherf***er。 Get ready!”—Chris Pratt, all around great guy and star of The Terminal List, coming to Amazon Prime

A Navy SEAL has nothing left to live for and everything to kill for after he discovers that the American government is behind the deaths of his team in this ripped-from-the-headlines political thriller that is “so powerful, so pulse-pounding, so well-written—rarely do you read a debut novel this damn good” (Brad Thor, #1 New York Times bestselling author)。

On his last combat deployment, Lieutenant Commander James Reece’s entire team was killed in a catastrophic ambush。 But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government。

Now, with no family and free from the military’s command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he’s learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward avenging the deaths of his family and teammates。 With breathless pacing and relentless suspense, Reece ruthlessly targets his enemies in the upper echelons of power without regard for the laws of combat or the rule of law。

With “crackerjack plotting, vivid characters both in and out of uniform, and a relentless pace to a worthy finish” (Stephen Hunter, #1 New York Times bestselling author), The Terminal List is perfect for fans of Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, and Nelson DeMille。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I liked the idea of this story, and thought the writing was good。 I had a hard time feeling sympathy for the main character once he starts murdering people。

What could have been a great thriller with compelling story line, interesting tactical info, and unexpected plot twists; was spoiled by frequent political interjections。 The opinion based political commentary came across as contrived attempts to be relevant。 I read thrillers to enjoy a thriller, not to be schooled on a political ideology。 Spoiled it for me。

I'd give it a 4。5。 Very compelling story and fast paced writing。 It drops you right into the story, backtracks just a touch and then sets up the back story 。。。 then slams on the accelerator。 It's a wild ride。Carr likes his detailed descriptions of everything: cars, planes, guns, backpacks, knives, security protocols, government and military offices。。。 and loves a good acronym too。 haha。 And after I'd started it I realize there are four more in the series too。 I'd give it a 4。5。 Very compelling story and fast paced writing。 It drops you right into the story, backtracks just a touch and then sets up the back story 。。。 then slams on the accelerator。 It's a wild ride。Carr likes his detailed descriptions of everything: cars, planes, guns, backpacks, knives, security protocols, government and military offices。。。 and loves a good acronym too。 haha。 And after I'd started it I realize there are four more in the series too。 。。。more

The only positive of this book is the chapters are short enough to enable frequent eye rolling without losing my page。

I’m a little speechless。 In all respects this story was extremely troubling。 A nail biting book

Comm James Reece, the agility with which are the task were performed were very realistic。 Cannot wait for the series on Amazon Prime。 Hope they do justice。

Great book。 This book combines the military/political/conspiracy thriller elements of a Tom Clancy novel with the action/pacing of a Lee Child thriller。 Intense。 Vivid。 Graphic。 Fun。

Great revenge story, looking forward to more from this author。 The redacted gimmick is a little silly though

This book is a great first instalment of the James Reece series from Jack Carr。 This is my second time reading it in preparation for the new series coming out on Amazon Prime。 This book has perfect pacing, blending page turning action with a mystery/thriller aspect as to the conspiracy James Reece is thrown into。 Jack Carr’s personal experiences with his time spent in the United States Armed Forces is clear in his descriptions of equipment and techniques。 The scenes within the books with the per This book is a great first instalment of the James Reece series from Jack Carr。 This is my second time reading it in preparation for the new series coming out on Amazon Prime。 This book has perfect pacing, blending page turning action with a mystery/thriller aspect as to the conspiracy James Reece is thrown into。 Jack Carr’s personal experiences with his time spent in the United States Armed Forces is clear in his descriptions of equipment and techniques。 The scenes within the books with the perfect amount of detail so you can picture everything happening in your mind。Can’t recommend enough。 。。。more

What a wild, brutal, story of revenge this is! Wow。 If you like the genre, go for it。 It’s excellent。 And if you listen to the audible version as I did for part of the book, the narrator is great。 The same guy that did the Joe Ledger novels。

Not only is this one of the best thrillers I have read, this is one of the best books I have read!

I have a secret love of elite military operative stories。This was a book I hoped would bring me back to my early days when these novels were fun and exciting。 It was OK。All these books have a protagonist who is the best of the best and takes everyone else down。 I expect that macho bullshit but this was simply predicable and boring。The reason for all the muck that started this was obvious and it didn't take the hot young journalist (who super Seal was turned on by a day after his family are harme I have a secret love of elite military operative stories。This was a book I hoped would bring me back to my early days when these novels were fun and exciting。 It was OK。All these books have a protagonist who is the best of the best and takes everyone else down。 I expect that macho bullshit but this was simply predicable and boring。The reason for all the muck that started this was obvious and it didn't take the hot young journalist (who super Seal was turned on by a day after his family are harmed) didn't aid the storyline。There are much better versions of this genre。 Skip this。3 perfectly executed everything out of everything。 。。。more

Well for starters the sheer level of authenticity that Jack Carr brings to the story with his real life experience as a navy seal is really impressive and amps up the WOW factor a ton。 James Reece and his revenge story is especially refreshing and even more so when you take a step back and realize how many typical “revenge story’s” there are right now。 So much so that the whole genre for me is beginning to feel a bit overstuffed。 Once the action kicks in after the slow initial start you’ll find Well for starters the sheer level of authenticity that Jack Carr brings to the story with his real life experience as a navy seal is really impressive and amps up the WOW factor a ton。 James Reece and his revenge story is especially refreshing and even more so when you take a step back and realize how many typical “revenge story’s” there are right now。 So much so that the whole genre for me is beginning to feel a bit overstuffed。 Once the action kicks in after the slow initial start you’ll find your jaw dropping more increasingly until you finish。 One thing is made clear about the character of James Reece in this book。 He makes the punisher by comparison look like an easy breezy PG rated walk through a flowery meadow。 Shit gets BLOODY in this book。 👏👏👏 。。。more

I started this book and before I knew it I was 200 pages in, incredibly fast read, well written, great storyline。

Great book。 The terminology and methodology brought back memories of experiences while deployed。 It also demonstrated some of the political influxes and personal feelings felt by many。 It has been a great lead in to True Believer。

If you’re hoping to feel like you’re reading advertisements in Soldier Of Fortune, that is, name drops for loads of guns&gadgets in the first dozens of pages, then this is for you。 I imagine some folks enjoy that, but I like a story over just a list of gadgets and stereotypes。

This was book of the year for me! Jack Reece is a killer!!!!
