*this arc was sent to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return*3。5/5 starsThis was a good book which is about Lauren who is left at the alter and picks herself back up and give herself a second chance。 I was expecting this book to be a romance but this book mainly focuses on selfcare and love。 I enjoyed the author's writing of this book and thought she was an incredible writer。 Everything she wrote was perfectly balanced with talking about all life things that people sometimes face *this arc was sent to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return*3。5/5 starsThis was a good book which is about Lauren who is left at the alter and picks herself back up and give herself a second chance。 I was expecting this book to be a romance but this book mainly focuses on selfcare and love。 I enjoyed the author's writing of this book and thought she was an incredible writer。 Everything she wrote was perfectly balanced with talking about all life things that people sometimes face like body shaming and toxicity but also adding humor so you aren't sad。 I enjoyed the plot of this book and how the main character is older which I often don't see in books these days。 I do have to say that the pacing was a little off throughout the novel for me and should have been equal throughout the story。 The main character in this book is Lauren and I really enjoyed her character。 She is in her 40s and faces a lot of challenges in this book。 I love how strong she is and keeps on fighting。 She learns how to love herself and it lets readers know that even at 40s you can face toxicity but can grow from it。 There are many side characters in this book a lot who weren't supporting at all but I enjoyed Rudy's character。 He was always there for Lauren when she needed to talk。 There is romance in this book but it's not the main factor of the story which I was kind of disappointed about。 I got into this book thinking it was mainly a romance。The ending was great though and I loved how this book turned out。 Readers especially older women can learn from Lauren as you can connect with her character。 I did have some minor problems with this book mostly because of the romance but other then that this book was great。 I totally recommend reading this book especially if you love women's fiction。 。。。more

A Rothstein novel is going to make you laugh and it's going to make you cry。 You are going to love some characters and hate others。 The lighthearted writing style that Rothstein uses allows for difficult topics to be explored without weighing to heavily on the reader。 As with her other novels， Rothstein's main character is a woman in her 40s。 Lauren has a successful career but has not managed to gain that same level of success in her romantic life。 As Lauren's family swoops in to "help" her cope A Rothstein novel is going to make you laugh and it's going to make you cry。 You are going to love some characters and hate others。 The lighthearted writing style that Rothstein uses allows for difficult topics to be explored without weighing to heavily on the reader。 As with her other novels， Rothstein's main character is a woman in her 40s。 Lauren has a successful career but has not managed to gain that same level of success in her romantic life。 As Lauren's family swoops in to "help" her cope with her latest relationship failure， other challenges rise to the surface。 The dynamics of Lauren's family unveil much about the woman Lauren grew up to be。 As the sisters learn how to love and lean on each other Lauren finds strength and comfort in an unexpected friend。 Rothstein's books are delightfully heartwarming and laugh out loud funny。 I will read everything she writes！ I received a copy of this title via NetGalley。 。。。more

Solid Tale Of Discovering Yourself In Mid-Life。 There is an overarching theme through many of the lower-starred reviews （at least as I read Goodreads early on release day， just after finishing the book myself） that they "didn't know where this tale was going"。 To me。。。 *this is the very point of the book*。 Our main character suddenly finds herself directionless after what she thought she had in the bag collapses around her， and we get to watch as she picks up the shattered pieces and rediscovers Solid Tale Of Discovering Yourself In Mid-Life。 There is an overarching theme through many of the lower-starred reviews （at least as I read Goodreads early on release day， just after finishing the book myself） that they "didn't know where this tale was going"。 To me。。。 *this is the very point of the book*。 Our main character suddenly finds herself directionless after what she thought she had in the bag collapses around her， and we get to watch as she picks up the shattered pieces and rediscovers herself - and discovers her voice for possibly the very first time - in the aftermath。 In this， Rothstein does a truly tremendous job of having a solid combination of support and antagonism - often in the same supporting characters。 Thus showing that *everyone* is flawed to some degree， but also that *everyone* is good to some degree as well。 The banter is great， the emphasis on her time at summer camp as a teen is excellent nostalgia reminiscent of Wet Hot American Summer， the slow burn romance is well executed， and even the very serious issues discussed - workforce discrimination （though never truly fleshed out there）， diet "culture"， overbearing but well intentioned parents， etc - are done well， with just enough weight to give substance without becoming truly overbearing。 Very much recommended。 。。。more

I felt for Lauren and was looking forward to following her journey from left at the alter to great new life， but I wasn't able to get there。 I had to stop reading the book after her sister Margo arrived。Why？ Because of all the talk about weight。 It's not a topic that is triggering for me， but it just became to repetitive and overbearing in the story， that it sucked all the joy out of it for me。I understand that talking about weight and diet was an important part of Lauren's story， but it filtere I felt for Lauren and was looking forward to following her journey from left at the alter to great new life， but I wasn't able to get there。 I had to stop reading the book after her sister Margo arrived。Why？ Because of all the talk about weight。 It's not a topic that is triggering for me， but it just became to repetitive and overbearing in the story， that it sucked all the joy out of it for me。I understand that talking about weight and diet was an important part of Lauren's story， but it filtered into all parts and all characters that I just got sick of hearing about it。Thank you NetGally and Lake Union Publishing for the opportunity to read the book in advance in exchange for my honest opinions。 。。。more

On the surface， Crazy to Leave You is a funny， lighthearted story。 But underlying Rothstein’s signature humor and wry， engaging voice is the shattering dilemma of every woman who has ever believed that she is not enough—not thin enough， not successful enough， not loved enough。 Lauren’s journey to loving herself is one to which we can all relate。 I think every book club is going to want this one！

This was a fun book to read。 Marilyn Simon Rothstein perfectly blends the best of comedy， drama and romance。 I loved the characters and the mixture of humor， snark， and angst。
