Summary

All it takes is one lie for the best-laid plans to go awry。

After decades of pushing away traumatic memories from childhood, Colette De Luca is ready to start a family of her own。 It’ll be healthy, a wish come true, with a man she believes is the love of her life。 Thankfully, she thought ahead when she was younger and froze her eggs for this very moment。

Greta O’Brien, a wealthy hedge-fund manager, is forced to confront the making of her own family when tragedy strikes her twin teenage sons。 As she debates whether to confess a betrayal to her husband, the ripple effects of the family’s devastating circumstances begin to spread far beyond their home。

These two women, hopeful, disillusioned, and desperate, are on an emotional decades-long journey to motherhood by any means necessary。 Strangers whose lives explode in the wake of a shocking event—and converge in more ways than one—Colette and Greta are forced to face the twists of fate and the choices they’ve made。

I may have to read it again because I was so engrossed I neglected my own duties to take care of myself。 The plot structure is unique and you all didn't make any grammatical errors or I was just blindsided。 You are addicting!!! Thank you so much to @addisonmcknightofficial for sending me the cutest package and an early copy of this book。 📚WHAT I ENJOYED:-honestly the whole story was intriguing and I wanted to know more about Colette and Greta。 How were they different? My only iff was that at times in the beginning, I felt like some things were dragged on so I felt myself quickly reading by。 But, I think that this would be a great book club book! 。。。more

As others have written, I could not put this novel down。 I had to see what would happen next。 There is a lot of pain in the novel, and it might not be for everyone, but I found it to be a provocative read。 Kudos to the writing duo from West Hartford, CT!

I truly wish I could talk to someone while I was reading- the moral dilemmas, lies, behavior, and decisions of these characters- a wild domestic drama! It was truly a read asking: how far would you go to get what you've always thought you wanted?4。5 stars! 。。。more

Woven between two women, strangers, this story shows the hurt, weakness, vulnerability and mistakes they make, before becoming better people。 I won’t spoil this one, the plot lines are too good to ruin it for you。 It catches you from the start with backstories of abuse (physical and emotional) and how each coped with it as they grew up。 It is heartbreaking at moments, where you want to grab hold of each of them and shake some sense into their lives。 The lies, the traumas, the outcome。 You don’t Woven between two women, strangers, this story shows the hurt, weakness, vulnerability and mistakes they make, before becoming better people。 I won’t spoil this one, the plot lines are too good to ruin it for you。 It catches you from the start with backstories of abuse (physical and emotional) and how each coped with it as they grew up。 It is heartbreaking at moments, where you want to grab hold of each of them and shake some sense into their lives。 The lies, the traumas, the outcome。 You don’t expect where it is going, but your heart feels so much better when you get there。 。。。more

Wow, what a journey! This is a sweeping saga about family ties, trust, and the ripple effect of lies and betrayals, all wrapped up in a suspenseful page-turner。 I was deeply invested in Greta and Colette’s lives and struggles, and gobsmacked when their paths merged。 This is one heck of a debut, and I look forward to seeing what Addison McKnight writes next。

My co-worker suggested I read this book。 I am so glad she did。 I normally take time when reading but could not stop with An Imperfect Plan。 I found myself bringing the book everywhere I went in case I had a moment or two to pick up where I left off。 I was blown away by the twists and turns and the ending left me with an appetite to read more of these authors' work。 My co-worker suggested I read this book。 I am so glad she did。 I normally take time when reading but could not stop with An Imperfect Plan。 I found myself bringing the book everywhere I went in case I had a moment or two to pick up where I left off。 I was blown away by the twists and turns and the ending left me with an appetite to read more of these authors' work。 。。。more

The pacing of both women’s stories mirrored each other so they were both exciting at the same time, and then when they came together it got even more interesting。 There are some difficult topics in this book including miscarriage, infertility, addiction, mental health, and death。 While there are hard topics, it’s an amazing story。“It was hard to be happy when your whole life was built from a lie。”An Imperfect Plan comes out 5/10。 。。。more

Omg this book was great!! If you love Gone Girl snd big little lies you’ll love An Imperfect Plan。 The book has me thinking about what I would do if I went to pick up my frozen eggs at 49 and they were gone! The book also had me turning the pages as fast as I could and in the end I had less of a desire for perfection! This book should definitely be a movie!
