What a steamy read！ A great ending to this series， and a worthy HEA for Spider！ TW for off page domestic abuse， and occasional discussion of mental health issues， however much like all the others， this had a very “good for her” vibe。 We were glad to see Rey get her forever， after so much hardship。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 This had potential to be a 5 starts， but I hated the first 30% of this book because the mmc couldn’t get his head out of his ass realize that he is not the only one that can be hurt and it’s not only what he wants that should be respected。I’m all for mafia men， but Spider had no respect for Reyna’s space whatsoever。 She spent 14 years being tortured， she has earned it。He does a completely turn around， so there is that。 Liked 70% of this book。

Combustible Chemistry & Wicked BanterThe last book of the series and it was everything。 An Irish mobster with a broken heart and a heartless mafia queen who hasn’t even begun to realize her worth。 They find themselves involved in an arranged marriage situation to better their individual organized crime families but what they’re really fighting is a combustible chemistry。Spider has had my heart throughout this series because he’s always been the not chosen one。 He’s played all out and got nothing Combustible Chemistry & Wicked BanterThe last book of the series and it was everything。 An Irish mobster with a broken heart and a heartless mafia queen who hasn’t even begun to realize her worth。 They find themselves involved in an arranged marriage situation to better their individual organized crime families but what they’re really fighting is a combustible chemistry。Spider has had my heart throughout this series because he’s always been the not chosen one。 He’s played all out and got nothing in return until the day he spies Reyna through a window with her “acres of cleavage” and red lips and “mermaid eyes”。 Reyna is a widow and a black widow at that， if rumors are to be believed。 After the passing of her mafia captain husband， she’s now living with her brother and his daughter。 He may be a mafia don but even he was scared of Reyna。 Bound by wicked banter and an abundance of hotness， these two reluctantly accept their fates and respect forms alongside the sexual tension。Brutal Vows just wraps up the series so well。 There are cameos from the other couples in the series which is fun and it's like around the world by organized crime here。 So many groups make an appearance but the absolute best part is how Spider and Reyna come together as a unit。 They see each other for who they really are and love the crap out of each other while supporting each other to the death if needed。 These two characters have great emotional depth and they love with a rawness and intensity that made me swoon。There are dark moments， criminal moments and some， where I just outright laughed because the banter is THAT good。 Don’t even get me started on the spice。 Wow。 There’s passion and alpha love and then there’s Spider who comes with a huge…ego too。 🎳I’m so sad to read how definitively done J。T。 Geissinger is with this series because it’s definitely one of my most loved mafia series ever。 In case you missed it， Brutal Vows is out now and can be read as a standalone but for maximum enjoyment， start at the beginning of the series with Ruthless Creatures。 。。。more

Thanks to J。T。 Geissinger for providing me with an ARC of book #4 of the Queens and Monsters series。 I am honored to leave my personal， honest review。The Boss is in the house， and NO， I don’t mean Bruce – it’s Spider。 Who’d have thought？ I loved this entire series， and I enjoyed Spider in the previous books， but in this one， he really shows us what he’s made of。 I loved every minute of this book and the entire series。 We’ve gotten strong， smoldering， smart， dangerous， witty， sexy， and intense he Thanks to J。T。 Geissinger for providing me with an ARC of book #4 of the Queens and Monsters series。 I am honored to leave my personal， honest review。The Boss is in the house， and NO， I don’t mean Bruce – it’s Spider。 Who’d have thought？ I loved this entire series， and I enjoyed Spider in the previous books， but in this one， he really shows us what he’s made of。 I loved every minute of this book and the entire series。 We’ve gotten strong， smoldering， smart， dangerous， witty， sexy， and intense heroes and heroines throughout the series， and Spider and Reyna did not disappoint at all in this final book。 Spider wants to protect the Irish Mob; Reyna wants to protect her niece， Lilli， giving us the Spider and Black Widow combustive combination。 He and Reyna antagonizing and insulting each other can really rival the couples in the previous three books。 Just a few of my favorite comments from this story are: 1） “Seriously， how are men in charge of anything？”; 2） “Leo and Gianni are looking at us like we’re two psychiatric patients babbling at each other in a padded cell。”; 3） I’ll find somewhere close to the Church that can hold four hundred gangsters and has good security。 Maybe there’s a federal prison nearby。”; 4） “She’ll need something to show off to her friends， and it certainly isn’t you。”; and 5） “F___， it’s hot when you threaten to kill me。” The wit can make you laugh even when there’s danger interwoven。 I will REALLY miss all of the Q&M characters， but you never know what this author has up her sleeve for the future！ Anyone who hasn’t read J。T。 Geissinger， and this series in particular， is really missing out because everything she writes is fantastic。 I have not been disappointed， and neither will you。 。。。more

3。5 stars My favourite of the series。 Hands down。 The heroine is exactly how I perceive a badass woman to be。 I know people love Sloane （I’ll spare you another rant about how much I hate her） but Reyna is the one who really embodies all the attributes I see as powerful in a person: intelligence， confidence， elegance， courage and independence。 She’s who I want to be when I grow up - except I’m already grown up so maybe in a next life。 As I was saying， that was my favourite thing about the book， 3。5 stars My favourite of the series。 Hands down。 The heroine is exactly how I perceive a badass woman to be。 I know people love Sloane （I’ll spare you another rant about how much I hate her） but Reyna is the one who really embodies all the attributes I see as powerful in a person: intelligence， confidence， elegance， courage and independence。 She’s who I want to be when I grow up - except I’m already grown up so maybe in a next life。 As I was saying， that was my favourite thing about the book， the female character plus the plot。 And I don’t mean the whole plot （I’ll tell you later why） but whatever followed after 40/50% in。 This book had actually more intrigue， and plot points and characters which were involved in one way or another and just made the experience richer for me as a reader。 There was something to always keep me entertained or looking forward to apart from the developing romantic relationship。 Now the reason I can’t give this a full 4 stars is because the beginning of the book really painted Spider in a not so likeable light。 I didn’t like the misogyny he displayed。 I like my gangsters feminists 🤷♀️。 Now， I don’t think that he is a misogynist at heart， just that at the start of the book， he kinda only thought of himself and his misery and his ego。 Later he did redeem himself but I just felt like he put himself in a position which gives me some insight into his character and it was not good。 Now， time to explain。 He agrees to a marriage to an 18 year old girl。 18。 He is 38。 I know that in the romance genre there are plenty of age gaps and plenty of books which can make the imbalance of power and maturity work and give us a good story。 But here the story was that Spider was gonna end up with our heroine who is 33， so to think that a man I was falling for had agreed to marry my barely 18 year old niece （even if he wasn’t attracted to her - that’s not the point） - and he didn’t see anything wrong with tying such a young， innocent and immature girl to himself， it rubbed be the wrong way。 Not to mention he was mean to Reyna the h when clearly she was against the marriage because she just wanted the best for her niece。 Now the worst thing about this story was that Spider would have married the 18 year old Liliana， he was gonna go through with it 100% - he was literally at the altar waiting for her but he only didn’t end up married because Lili’s boyfriend showed up and ruined the wedding。 I would have liked if we were told or shown that he was gonna call off the wedding or something。 Anything。 But how much could he have loved Reyna if he was too stubborn to not marry the niece？ In the mafia - that marriage was for life - he could never divorce or change his mind。 So I don’t get it。 He was also very volatile and had moods that would swing so fast it would give me whiplash。 I get insecurity and trauma （we find out some things about his past） but that doesn’t really redeem him in my eyes。 I liked him in past books， but here he was bitter and he took it out on himself and others in my opinion。 。。。more
