Monster Love affairs。 I have become very fond of the Shadowkind。 This book， and the first Shadowkind series break all the rules about who we can and cannot love。 Sure， these guys are pretty good looking in human form， but they are so much more， kind， funny， caring because they are also familiar with non-mortal life， and it’s loninesses and being fragile。 The story is a love story in the best ways。

love every page。What can I say but that this is yet another great story told by the talented Eva Chase。 Characters and world building are so fleshed out it is easy to see 5e world through their eyes。 I love the cross over of Sorsha and her men from the completed series， Flirting With Monsters。 Only problem is now I have to wait months for the next book。

Quinn is attacked on her way home one night by strange shadowy creatures， just when she thinks all is lost three other monsters show up and save her。 Torrent，Lance and Crag have been ordered by their boss to keep her safe。 This is just a job for them but as they get to know Quinn ther feeling change and they realise that Quinn is unlike any other human they have ever encoutered in more ways than one。 This is a brilliant first in a new series and I look forward to the next book。

Chosen by Villains allows readers to return to the world created in flirting with monsters with a new set of characters。 Excitingly， we get to see some old ones too。 Not a requirement to have read the previous series， but it will help with having "shadowkind 101" understanding under your belt。 I enjoyed the similarities and differences between the two series。 I am so happy to be visiting this world again！ Torrent and his team are sent to keep Quinn safe from other shadowkind at the order of his Chosen by Villains allows readers to return to the world created in flirting with monsters with a new set of characters。 Excitingly， we get to see some old ones too。 Not a requirement to have read the previous series， but it will help with having "shadowkind 101" understanding under your belt。 I enjoyed the similarities and differences between the two series。 I am so happy to be visiting this world again！ Torrent and his team are sent to keep Quinn safe from other shadowkind at the order of his boss。 While they protect her from others becoming harder to do they start to investigate what is making her a target。 I enjoyed the mystery and classic Eva ending still had me surprised。 Can not wait for book two。 I received an advanced copy of this story and am voluntarily leaving my honest review。 。。。more

I think I need to reserve judgement on this series。The story takes place， as we find out， in the same world as the Flirting with Monsters series。 Quinn is a college student， going about her life， trying to get her arcitectual degree， blissfully ignorant of the alternate beings living on around her。 She has had a difficult life and is trying to make the best of it as she sees fit。 Suddenly， out of nowhere， she gets attacked by monstrous creatures and her life changes forever。 Quinn gets "saved" b I think I need to reserve judgement on this series。The story takes place， as we find out， in the same world as the Flirting with Monsters series。 Quinn is a college student， going about her life， trying to get her arcitectual degree， blissfully ignorant of the alternate beings living on around her。 She has had a difficult life and is trying to make the best of it as she sees fit。 Suddenly， out of nowhere， she gets attacked by monstrous creatures and her life changes forever。 Quinn gets "saved" by three "monsters" who whisk her off to an island。 They give her little if any information about what is happening and why， who they are， why they are "helping" her - other than she is "special"， or what comes next。 Now， she is on an island with them without a way of getting off said island that we or she know of， and she has no ability to fight off any of the monsters that try to attack her， but she just goes along with it。 She starts learning about them mostly through her own observations， but then she falls into the sack pretty quickly。Torrent， Crag， and Lance - her three "protectors" - do not particularly care for or about humans - she's just a job for their boss。 But soon， they start to realize she is different and treats them differently than they have experienced。 As their travels continue and they begin to all learn how/why Quinn is "special"， they start to care for/respect each other more。 Quinn wants her life back and not to be on the run forever。 How to accomplish this proves tricky and more danger ensues。 Who can they trust？ Can they even trust each other？ Let's see where this goes。I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review 。。。more

Eva has done it again！ We get another RH series starring the shadowkind。 This time we have three "monsters，" Torrent， Crag， and Lance。 We haven't yet gotten their complete stories， but they all work for Rollick who is a particularly nasty high level shadowkind that owns a hotel in California。 He assigns the three to follow a human woman。 He doesn't really tell them why he is interested in her， just instructs them to keep an eye on her and jump in if other shadowkind take an interest in her。 Torr Eva has done it again！ We get another RH series starring the shadowkind。 This time we have three "monsters，" Torrent， Crag， and Lance。 We haven't yet gotten their complete stories， but they all work for Rollick who is a particularly nasty high level shadowkind that owns a hotel in California。 He assigns the three to follow a human woman。 He doesn't really tell them why he is interested in her， just instructs them to keep an eye on her and jump in if other shadowkind take an interest in her。 Torrent is instructed to contact Rollick to if and when that happens。 Quinn lives in Jacksonville， FL and is working on a college degree in architecture。 She had a heart transparent at a young age and had no idea if and when her donor heart might give out on her。 She has worked to live the life she has while she has it。 She has taken to urban exploration and particularly likes sneaking into high places where she seems to feel more alive as she watches life below her high-rise perch。 Quinn is determined to get her degree and to design structures that will live on after she is gone。 As she is making her way home after dark one evening， she cuts through a park and suddenly feels a strange sensation in her chest。 The next thing she knows she is under attack by strange creatures that seem to appear out of the shadows。 Then， three larger beings appear and start fighting the smaller shadow forms。 One of the three grabs her and launches into the air， flying her away from the fight。 Ready to learn what happens next？ Well， grab the book and find out。 Unfortunately， or maybe fortunately， the tale will not end here。 Series， you know。 （There will a few old friends that show up in the book， or at least they are old friends to those of you who know about shawdowkind！）I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author。 My review is voluntary。 。。。more
