Wow!I am not a fan of smut books。 I like a story and romance。 This book has both。 But the core of this story is one big long sex scene。 The intriguing part to me was that it was in a scientific setting。 Like taking a sexual anatomy and how they work class。 Human male and female and an alien male。 Thank goodness the author also threw in emotions during the session。 Wasn't really romance, but feelings were involved。 Two sentient races trying to survive in the universe。 I'm surprised at how interes Wow!I am not a fan of smut books。 I like a story and romance。 This book has both。 But the core of this story is one big long sex scene。 The intriguing part to me was that it was in a scientific setting。 Like taking a sexual anatomy and how they work class。 Human male and female and an alien male。 Thank goodness the author also threw in emotions during the session。 Wasn't really romance, but feelings were involved。 Two sentient races trying to survive in the universe。 I'm surprised at how interesting it was for me。 I look forward to more。 。。。more

Great sequelVery much enjoyed this second instalment。 I liked that we got to go deeper into a forming partnership and that we spent the entire book focused on them。 The innocence of the Nepenthe and the scientific mind of the female host made a nice mix。 The assistant was a nice touch too。 I hope we get more interactions between all three in future books。

Octavia Hyde, otherwise known as Eris Adderly, is a gifted author。 Her ability to create these unique worlds, these deeply envisioned characters, these finely crafted stories。。。 would be enough but she weaves it effortlessly with steamy, original erotic scenes that capture all the senses。 I can't even fathom how she built this sweetness, the unusual respect between the main characters and still had that edge of your seat excitement that leaves a reader breathless。 This book is another perfect ex Octavia Hyde, otherwise known as Eris Adderly, is a gifted author。 Her ability to create these unique worlds, these deeply envisioned characters, these finely crafted stories。。。 would be enough but she weaves it effortlessly with steamy, original erotic scenes that capture all the senses。 I can't even fathom how she built this sweetness, the unusual respect between the main characters and still had that edge of your seat excitement that leaves a reader breathless。 This book is another perfect example of the authors flexibility and skill, delving into areas of desire that might seem strange and making them impressive。。。 and maintaining the story beyond it。 I can't wait for book 3! 。。。more

That。 Was。 Amazing。So well-written。 The sheer skill of vocabulary, the giddy joyous syntax, rich characterisation, and utterly relentless pace。Well worth the wait。 And I did go slow to savour the experience。

I very much enjoyed the first book, but I absolutely love this second book! In the first book there are three different stories involving three sets of characters, but in this book it revolves around one couple and an assistant that does “assisting” things…lol… you’ll understand when you read this story。 I think this story resonated with me so much because it is based on the medical side of things, which involves the alien doctor or mediprat and the human doctor and her medical assistant。 The ch I very much enjoyed the first book, but I absolutely love this second book! thank goodnessit's OVER!!! let me say--i DO enjoy the books of this author--in BOTH her nom(s) de plume, but THIS book was an infodump of bodily mechanics and scientific inner monologue。 the entire book was 200 pages literally decidated to two scenes。 so boring。 i was heartily SICK of her eyes, his arms, their names, the platform, joints, fingers, the memory surface, suckers, the word pale, and so much more by the end of this book。 excessive word repetition is a personal literary pet peeve of mine, and " thank goodnessit's OVER!!! let me say--i DO enjoy the books of this author--in BOTH her nom(s) de plume, but THIS book was an infodump of bodily mechanics and scientific inner monologue。 the entire book was 200 pages literally decidated to two scenes。 so boring。 i was heartily SICK of her eyes, his arms, their names, the platform, joints, fingers, the memory surface, suckers, the word pale, and so much more by the end of this book。 excessive word repetition is a personal literary pet peeve of mine, and "host" stomped on my last good nerve with the numerous reiterations and lack of synonyms。 twenty five percent of the book was taken up by what COULD have been a hot interlude, but alyss' clinical detachment killed all sekksiness ( misspelled for the 'zon censors)。 we learned absolutely NOTHING about these characters, there was no plot, and it didn't really advance the series in any meaningful way besides the eggs。 i gave book one a tentative 4 for the interesting premise, despite the irksome flaws, but this book had nothing to redeem it。 my thoughts only。 feel free to read and form your own opinion。 but don't say you weren't warned。 。。。more

I don’t know…。It’s an interesting concept but a little sterile which leads to an unclear story。 I’m also not in love with the idea of incubation where the woman is consider a host (like disease) instead of an active participant in mutual progeny creation。 It soured some my feelings towards the the first two books。 This one was a struggle to read because I keep looking for this to be a bit more realistic than “alien-plus-human incubator means spawn。 I am hoping the next book will change the dynam I don’t know…。It’s an interesting concept but a little sterile which leads to an unclear story。 I’m also not in love with the idea of incubation where the woman is consider a host (like disease) instead of an active participant in mutual progeny creation。 It soured some my feelings towards the the first two books。 This one was a struggle to read because I keep looking for this to be a bit more realistic than “alien-plus-human incubator means spawn。 I am hoping the next book will change the dynamic between both species not only go hot and heavy but intermingle genetically as the book evolves。 For now I will give it 4 stars because of my curiosity。 。。。more

The ending made me think Ea Nir and Alyss may get a hea。 Love the world building! Hated the ending of this book with a continuation of the story into another book right when I'm wondering if Nepenthe cuddle。 I mean, really?! this book。。 oh, wow…not for the delicate readerThis book reaffirms my suspicion that it’s the quiet, meek ones who are the biggest freaks。 This book is definitely not your grandmother’s romance novel。 Spice level is off the charts。 There is MF, MFM, and some MMF interaction, as well as DP, binding, water play, light sexual asphyxiation, voyeurism/exhibitionism, stuffing, mating fugue, overpowering, ovipositors, anchoring (similar to knotting, but different orifice), and the tentacles, oooh the t this book。。 oh, wow…not for the delicate readerThis book reaffirms my suspicion that it’s the quiet, meek ones who are the biggest freaks。 This book is definitely not your grandmother’s romance novel。 Spice level is off the charts。 There is MF, MFM, and some MMF interaction, as well as DP, binding, water play, light sexual asphyxiation, voyeurism/exhibitionism, stuffing, mating fugue, overpowering, ovipositors, anchoring (similar to knotting, but different orifice), and the tentacles, oooh the tentacles…。 Yeah, this book ticks ALLLLLL the good boxes!Ea Nir, the Nepenthe’s Medipract, or doctor, has been paired with the human geneticist Alyss in an attempt to save both their species。 He has a clutch of eggs that need deposited into a willing host and Alyss is ever hungry for knowledge, so let the experiment begin! He is the human equivalent of a virgin, however, and not without his own deep curiosity, so even though things start out very clinical, they definitely don’t end up that way。 Her assistant, Farrokh, is brought along for the ride and let’s just say, everyone’s “horizons” were broadened。 How the author can elicit the level of heat while using such technical jargon is a true gift。 The world building is excellent, character development is and the wordsmithing completely submerses the reader in this world。 If you haven’t given this author a try before, you are truly missing out。 She has more sci-fi series, and her real-life books are magnificent (yeah, I’m talking about you, Bill from Bassakwards。。) 。。。more

Tentacled gloryFirst book was great。 This one is beyond great。 The collision of science and desire is utterly delicious。 “Alysss … I have more eggs for you” is a line that will keep me shivering for years。Drop everything else you’re doing and read this book。 That is all。

Book Two in We Are Nepenthe Octavia Hyde has done it again… finished this book in one reading session until 2am。 The book captivates you and throws you into the fantasy story。 This book is very different and if you like tentacles…。 We’ll this book is for you!

Is this one superbly written? YES, it most certainly is。Does this one sizzle? YES, it most certainly does。But, what affected and impacted me most deeply was how skillfully this author wrote about the feelings of a totally non-humanoid alien of another species for the human female who volunteered to serve as a 'host' for future generations of his endangered species。Ms。 Hyde has a beautifully delicate touch with her pacing, her words, the images and feelings she invokes in the reader。 A gentle and Is this one superbly written? Tentacle Hotness 🥵I’ve waited for this book for a loooong time and it did not disappoint! First of all this cover is amazing 😍 secondly, I love everything about this book— the pushy human geneticist, her obedient lab assistant, and especially the inexperienced tentacle alien 🥰🐙🥰

Surprisingly enjoyable! This is definitely not my normal cup of tea, but it's honestly just so。。。cute? So wholesome and sweet you'll get a toothache。 It's not even about the tentacles, this level of mutual respect between characters is rarely seen in "romance" novels。 What a treat! Well, it is so hard to find a specific genre that can pigeonhole the writing found in this series。 It is ScFi。 It is Intensely Stimulating-mentally and physically。 It is Smart-Intellectual, but with heart。 Host is what Great Literature used to be。 It is captivating。 Oh…and there are tentacles! 。。。more
