Okay， this is going to be a long post。。。。KOTLC was one of my favorites till a few installments ago but gradually it is losing it's appeal。。。 For one， the books are too long filled with pages and pages of nothing but fillers with unnecessary dialogues and unimportant characters。 The whole plot （if there is any or even if it is there， if it makes sense） can be easily condensed into a series of 7 or even 8 books if there were not so many instances of fake trials， avoidable situations。 The whole sto Okay， this is going to be a long post。。。。KOTLC was one of my favorites till a few installments ago but gradually it is losing it's appeal。。。 For one， the books are too long filled with pages and pages of nothing but fillers with unnecessary dialogues and unimportant characters。 The whole plot （if there is any or even if it is there， if it makes sense） can be easily condensed into a series of 7 or even 8 books if there were not so many instances of fake trials， avoidable situations。 The whole story started with a person's memory break and it was supposed to be a huge important piece of information in the bigger scenario， but even after 8。5 books， the suspense of it is not solved。 The author may say that it is a very huge plot involving 10 humongous volumes but she is even unable to convince her readers about who the actual bad guy is or what their actual plan is or why they want to destroy the world。 And to cover all this， there is a lot of unnecessary emphasis on the romantic developments。 I mean， come on！ At this point in the series， after 9 （or 8。5） extremely lengthy books， the protagonist still cannot decide who she loves。 *Insert an epic eye roll here*。 There are way too many unnecessary characters in the whole series。 Why even write about them in the first place？ The author can easily avoid Jensi， Wraith， Blur， Tinker and more than half of the council because they don't have any real significance in the bigger plot。 And Alden， who seemed like the major supportive character in the beginning of the series is hardly mentioned after flashback。 And don't even start me on the sparkly flying horses！！！ She had written almost 2 books stating their importance， but by book 9 they just faded into the background。 To be really honest， if anyone writes 10 books about something huge， atleast the pacing should be fast and tension should be really high to make the readers engaged。 I personally think that this series should have （could have） ended long ago and it is high time to wrap this up。 But unfortunately， the author has announced yet another book after the 9th book and I can say with some degree of certainty that this series is going to lose some its fanbase。。。。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 UNLOCKED SPOILERSi just finished unlocked a couple of weeks ago。 this is probably one of the best fantasy book series i’ve read and the only one where i actually have to wait for the next book。 honestly， it’s a little fun being so anxious to find out sophie’s reaction to keefe leaving。
