I absolutely love this book and every elementary library class I’ve read it to has too。 It’s fun to read, easy to memorize, and a guy on YouTube even did a rap about it, which I let the kids watch after reading the book。 This is honestly my third favorite Dr。 Seuss book。 It doesn’t have much of a point to it。 It’s just full of zany words, but I think it helps with annunciation。

Genre: Poetry Grade: 2-3This is a classic Dr。 Seuss book that would be fun for students to read and be interested in。 Dr。 Seuss makes up words and so students would have fun saying them and even learning them, knowing they are made up。 It would be a fun book to read to students who aren’t as interested in books because it inspires their imagination to think outside the box。

Another great rhyming book by Dr。 Seuss

Fantastic! My kids thought it was “fantastic!” They really enjoyed the rhythm and rhyme of the book。 We would definitely recommend it!

A story that describes a bunch of creatures that live in various places in the house。 As a kid, it always bugged me that The Wocket was never actually mention in the text of the book, only in the title。

Meh。 I hadn't seen this in a long time。 It was kind of typical for Seuss, but。。。less。 Like, when it was over I was flicking back and forth with the last page。 I thought I'd missed something。 Meh。 I hadn't seen this in a long time。 It was kind of typical for Seuss, but。。。less。 Like, when it was over I was flicking back and forth with the last page。 I thought I'd missed something。 。。。more

It's somehow embarrassing for me to admit that this was my first Dr。 Seuss book。 As a kid, I never fancy colorful storybooks。 I started with (of course the ABCs) but then jumped right off to literary folios。 I indulged in occasional "fun" illustrations back then too but nothing stood out。(Also, what a fun house this book was about!) I don't know what to tell this nice fellow about his home。 He probably needs an exterminator, or at least figure out some sort of subleasing situation? In any case: classic art and classic rhyming。 I don't know what to tell this nice fellow about his home。 He probably needs an exterminator, or at least figure out some sort of subleasing situation? In any case: classic art and classic rhyming。 。。。more

So funny and interesting

Easy rhyming bookThis is a good Dr。 Seuss book in terms of length and rhyme。 From a learning to read standpoint, I’m not sure that the made up words (made up just to rhyme) facilitate learning, but then again, I’m not an educator, so what do I know?

busé

i have to admit, i read it for the rap video

Another silly book to introduce children to rhyming。

Dr。 Seuss is a consistent hit with Rowan, and this was no exception。 He just happily sits and enjoys it every time。 Doesn’t engage with it as vocally or enthusiastically as Hop on Pop or Mr。 Brown Can Moo, but he’s still here for it。 He’s especially fond of the juggled eggs in the basement。 And the “paste brush。” Kid’s big into paste brushes right now。

Dr Seuss was one of my favourite authors and illustrators as a child。 I always found his books amusing and humorous, but while most people think of Green Eggs and Ham or The Cat in The Hat when they hear Dr Seuss, my mind immediately goes to There’s a Wocket in my Pocket。 I loved this book as a child, I found it funny and loved the pictures in the book。 The story is told through rhyming, but also through a little boy in red with spikey hair running through his house finding all of these amazing Dr Seuss was one of my favourite authors and illustrators as a child。 I always found his books amusing and humorous, but while most people think of Green Eggs and Ham or The Cat in The Hat when they hear Dr Seuss, my mind immediately goes to There’s a Wocket in my Pocket。 I loved this book as a child, I found it funny and loved the pictures in the book。 The story is told through rhyming, but also through a little boy in red with spikey hair running through his house finding all of these amazing and ridiculous creatures beside common objects in his house。 The images and expressions shown give you an idea if he welcomes the creatures or if he does not want the creatures in his house, sometimes he even warns us that we should make sure there are not any in our house。 Dr Seuss also teaches basic and early rhyming with normal words and made-up words that are attributed to made up creatures, for example a Wasket in the Basket。 The made-up words can help children identify rhyming patterns。 It can also help children identify those items in their house by rhyming them with the creatures that might live there from this book。 I like everything about this book and would find it hard to look for any dislikes as it is a fun book that will cause laughter and interest into the things around us。 The sentence structures are in the form of a poem and can be read quick and snappy or short and drawn out。 The story sparks our imagination and makes us think like a child and how random items can be so much fun to make rhyming words with。 We could link this with trying to find actual words to rhyme the furniture with。 In a teaching sense for the classroom this book could be linked with a few fun lessons。 When I read it, I always think about certain beats to certain songs, so tying it in with a music lesson would be a fun idea, maybe continuing the story with other furniture in our house and rhyming new creatures to it。 In doing so we could have an art lesson where they draw their very own creature to go with their furniture。 The possibilities for this book are endless which is why I believe it to be so great for children of all ages。 。。。more

We all know I love Theres a Wocket In My Pocket。 This silly rhyming book would be appropriate to use in a classroom where students are learning about rhyming。

A child lives in a house with all sorts of interesting (made-up) creatures! A cute introduction to rhyming and creativity。

Each time I read this with one of my children, another climbs in my lap to be next。 Yesterday the three youngest (2-5) each had two turns in my lap, then when I was done, my preteen read to them a few more times。 This is a good attention grabber for young listeners, and a fun one to read out loud。

One of my favorite Dr。 Suess books!

there seems to be a lot of dr。 seuss I haven't read yet, and I'm seeing what they're like before putting them out for the kids (which is why I'm reading so many little books right now)。 This one was just cute, and I can see why kids would like it。 there seems to be a lot of dr。 seuss I haven't read yet, and I'm seeing what they're like before putting them out for the kids (which is why I'm reading so many little books right now)。 This one was just cute, and I can see why kids would like it。 。。。more

I didn’t like this book。 It had so many different rhyming words that just become aggravating after a while。 This is one of those books that you regret reading in the middle of it or think why did I even start reading this, but you can’t put it down because you want to find out what happens at the end。 I love Dr。Seuss books, but this one is my least favorite。

This book is a steaming pile of lazy-(view spoiler)[ass (hide spoiler)] garbage。 Reputation firmly established, Dr。 Seuss quite obviously phoned this one in and collected his paycheck。 Boring and awful。 Don't waste your time。 This book is a steaming pile of lazy-(view spoiler)[ass (hide spoiler)] garbage。 Reputation firmly established, Dr。 Seuss quite obviously phoned this one in and collected his paycheck。 Boring and awful。 Don't waste your time。 。。。more
