I read this book to my Firsties in honor of MLK， Jr。 day， the upcoming African American History month and for an introduction to informative writing and biographies。 This book nicely suits all of these bills。 Plenty of pictures and it kept their interest for over a half hour， which is saying a lot when dealing with six and seven year olds。
