Damaged Not BrokenWow。 Just wow。 This is the third time in less than a week， I’ve read a book by an author I’m totally familiar with and yet this book is so totally unusual。 I’ve loved all the “Grump” books but once again， as I have twice recently， I have to describe this book as “intense。” It’s raw and gritty and not the merrily-we-go-along with some humor， banter， sexy times， a little slow suspense and angst but nothing too heavy。 This book is heavy; and intense。 Don’t get me wrong…it’s GREAT Damaged Not BrokenWow。 Just wow。 This is the third time in less than a week， I’ve read a book by an author I’m totally familiar with and yet this book is so totally unusual。 I’ve loved all the “Grump” books but once again， as I have twice recently， I have to describe this book as “intense。” It’s raw and gritty and not the merrily-we-go-along with some humor， banter， sexy times， a little slow suspense and angst but nothing too heavy。 This book is heavy; and intense。 Don’t get me wrong…it’s GREAT writing as all Nicole Snow books are， but this one doesn’t lighten up and allow you to breathe easy again until nearly the very end。 As I usually say， I don’t describe the story in a review because I assume you’ve read the description。 I tell how a book moved me。 How it made me feel。 I was deeply ingrained throughout the entire book。 It’s gripping and you have to keep turning pages because you’re sure this will all turn out okay， somehow。 And it does。 The HEA is every bit as intense as all that leads up to it。 And just FYI， don’t breathe too soon。 It ain’t over til it’s over。 Loved it。 。。。more

I hate to be the odd woman out with the average review but this one didn’t work for me。 I didn’t feel a likable connection to Roland orCallie or any of the characters actually。 It wasn’t a bad story but it didn’t excite me。 I liked the other two books in the series better。 Maybe it’s because I never liked Roland in the series。 I’m still team Nicole。 Until next time y’all happy reading。。

Nicole Snow does it again， giving you a grumpasaurus and major jerk and turning him into a character you root for with all your heart。 Callie is catching a flight to be with her dad and start a new job but she has a run in with a major jerk that leaves her with an uneasy feeling like he knows something she doesn't and turns out to be none other than her boss the tabloid king and everything she is against when people like him ruined her dad。 But underneath that gruff exterior is more than just a Nicole Snow does it again， giving you a grumpasaurus and major jerk and turning him into a character you root for with all your heart。 Callie is catching a flight to be with her dad and start a new job but she has a run in with a major jerk that leaves her with an uneasy feeling like he knows something she doesn't and turns out to be none other than her boss the tabloid king and everything she is against when people like him ruined her dad。 But underneath that gruff exterior is more than just a jerk but a big heart that was just waiting for one quirky woman to wake up。 Roland fights hard to keep his shield in place that has kept his going along with his revenge plan to make the man who hurt him pay but will his revenge finally leave him in peace or will it hurt the frail relationship he has with Callie。 Roland started off as my least favorite character with an attitude and his singular focus on revenge but his reasons and who drives had me changing my tone and routing for him。 Callie has no easy ride either with a dad who she can't seem to find a way to help。 Both characters have your heart going out to them and rooting for them， hoping they will find their way to their happily ever after and Nicole Snow doe not disappoint。I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book。 。。。more

Roland is a classic case of you cant judge a book by its cover。 He comes across as everybodies idea of a dirt seeking news hound。 To all intents and purposes I suppose he is， but really he is much more than that。 His charector is much deeper his reasons more complex。 There is a middle ground in the man waiting to be brought out by the right circumstances and the right woman。 Darkness and light in this story taking place in the world of those who write the news。
