😦😲😬Wow very intense。 All Sara Fields books are this way。 This one was just a little smidge toned down thank goodness。 The action was awesome。 The sex scenes as always are a little over the top。 This is between a 3\12 ⭐️s to a 4 ⭐️s rating。 If you want to read a book with plenty BDSM and some action this is your book。 It was sad that the human basically caused the aliens to take over earth by all the experiments they did。 It turned around and literally bit them in the butt。 Good read。

2。5 stars （minor spoilers ahead）This book definitely had me in the first half thinking it was going to be a 4-5 star review， but that crumbled at the halfway point。 I know that dark romances deal with the love interest abusing the heroine and not learning from their ways， but the inconsistency to our heroine's character and how easily she gave in and lost herself felt disappointing。 I had hoped there might be a time when she'd call the love interest out on the fact that he raped her in one speci 2。5 stars （minor spoilers ahead）This book definitely had me in the first half thinking it was going to be a 4-5 star review， but that crumbled at the halfway point。 I know that dark romances deal with the love interest abusing the heroine and not learning from their ways， but the inconsistency to our heroine's character and how easily she gave in and lost herself felt disappointing。 I had hoped there might be a time when she'd call the love interest out on the fact that he raped her in one specific scene （I mean a lot of it was rape but one scene in the middle was a LOT） but instead she apologized。 She started to state that she enjoyed being his pet and wearing his collar and that just isn't for me， especially when it was established in the beginning that she was an independent soldier。The couple's chemistry was just through sex。 They almost never spoke about anything else， or even spoke TO each other if it wasn't during sex。 But then she was all 'omg I love him' but why？ There didn't feel like any strong connection。 It also felt weirdly pro alien conquest。 I get using alien invasion as an analogy for western world colonization but to then have the heroine do nothing to convince the love interest that she's a human being worthy of the same decency as him and give in to happily being a sex slave forever felt a BIT OFF。The two also only ever had REALLY rough sex and I wished there had been at least ONE tender love scene to really believe he saw her as anything other than a slave。I get that stories like this are for some folks， and maybe if Raiza and Talyn had felt like actual complex characters and the tell-tale theme of questioning what it means to be human had actually come into play， then this could've been for me。 But it just felt like stockholm syndrome。 LASTLY: yes this book had a lot of content warnings but I really wish romance authors would just start putting 'rape' as a warning when there is blatant rape in a book。 Hiding it behind the words 'explicit sexual content' isn't enough。 。。。more
