Classic Susan Mallery! What a thoroughly enjoyable read。 Definitely recommend adding this to your TBR shelf。

This story grabbed my interest from the very first chapter and didnt let go until the end。 The family dynamics were well written and made you feel the hurt and joy they were dealing with。 My favorite part was seeing the journey everyone had to either loving/accepting themselves or for some digging a hole of negativity。 Also I love seeing characters from other books make appearances。 I am hoping that Jack and Jill might show up in a future book。 🤞

I loved this book。 I couldn’t put it down。 Unfortunately I can see people really being treated like Mackenzie。 Families get messy especially when there’s a divorce。 Mackenzie did a great job of pulling herself together。 Susan Mallery’s twist was exactly what I was hoping for。 I highly recommend this book。

I enjoyed The Vineyard at Painted Moon。 It really grabbed and held my attention- to the point that I didn’t want to put it down。 There were parts that were a little sad (Rhys’s feelings at various times for example), but I loved how Mackenzie kept going and made a wonderful life for herself。 I kept thinking that I want to be her。 Another great Susan Mallery book!

Wow , Wow , wow 。。。。talk about an emotional roller coaster!! Not a fan。 Set in vineyard。 Winemaking。 Family compound。 Matriarch is raging bitch。 Too predictable。 Too happy of an ending。

Susan Mallery’s writing style is a masterpiece of understatement, with characters that are richly drawn and as multi-layered and complex as a glass of good wine。 There are no heros or villains in this story, just very human characters with their own unique flaws and idiosyncrasies, trying their best to deal with challenging circumstances。 The author uses multiple points of view in the narrative to allow the reader to really get inside the head of the three female main characters。 This allows the Susan Mallery’s writing style is a masterpiece of understatement, with characters that are richly drawn and as multi-layered and complex as a glass of good wine。 There are no heros or villains in this story, just very human characters with their own unique flaws and idiosyncrasies, trying their best to deal with challenging circumstances。 The author uses multiple points of view in the narrative to allow the reader to really get inside the head of the three female main characters。 This allows the reader to examine their motivations and understand how their history has shaped their responses to situations and events。 This book is, at its heart, all about family – both the family we are born with and the family we create for ourselves。 There is also an underlying theme of redemption and the need to be true to ourselves and take risks, no matter how hard that is or what form it may take。 Barbara’s path, in particular, is a reminder that life is a sum of the choices we make。 。。。more

I eagerly looked forward to reading The Vineyard at Painted Moon by Susan Mallery。 I had read a preview of the first chapter and was thoroughly intrigued。 I was not disappointed!! I admit that I was a little worried about how emotional this story would be, and with all the stress lately, I really wasn't sure that I was up for it。 As it turns out, I was right, it is emotional, but Susan Mallery gives us the whole kit-n-caboodle when it comes to feels in The Vineyard at Painted Moon。 So, the story is sad at times, but it's also sweet and even amusing。 I found it impossible not to like MacKenzie - in fact, there are several characters in this story that I really liked, and t I admit that I was a little worried about how emotional this story would be, and with all the stress lately, I really wasn't sure that I was up for it。 As it turns out, I was right, it is emotional, but Susan Mallery gives us the whole kit-n-caboodle when it comes to feels in The Vineyard at Painted Moon。 So, the story is sad at times, but it's also sweet and even amusing。 I found it impossible not to like MacKenzie - in fact, there are several characters in this story that I really liked, and there are some that I really didn't, but that made for a good story that was thoroughly engaging。 I won't go into details so I don't give spoilers, but this one turned out to be a book that I really enjoyed。 It's full of life lessons, including a couple that I've learned pretty recently, and I found the characters interesting whether I liked them or not。 。。。more

Susan Mallery creates characters so real I feel like I know them。 I feel like Mackenzie and Stephanie (who are sisters in law) became my friends before I finished the book。 I love the name Painted Moon for a vineyard and this book has such a feel good ending。 I can't tell much about that without spoiling it。 Another great read from Susan Mallery。 Susan Mallery creates characters so real I feel like I know them。 I feel like Mackenzie and Stephanie (who are sisters in law) became my friends before I finished the book。 I love the name Painted Moon for a vineyard and this book has such a feel good ending。 I can't tell much about that without spoiling it。 Another great read from Susan Mallery。 。。。more

This one was right up my alley! My favorite trope is where the main character overcomes seemingly insurmountable odds through perseverance and hard work and then triumphs in the end。 This was an example of that。 The romance part is almost secondary to the tale which I liked。 I detested the ex-mother-in-law with a bitter passion。 All in all an extremely satisfying read。

Good。。。。。。but lacking resolutionGood but the ending seemed abrupt。 While the ending reveals where the characters are, it leaves a transitional gap that made me feel unsatisfied。 The "villain" doesn't change even through plenty opportunity; The HEA just popped up without much warning, leaving the reader to imagine what transpired between them that made them fall in love。 Perhaps the focus on too many characters resulted in less interaction between the two main characters。 Would have liked to read Good。。。。。。but lacking resolutionGood but the ending seemed abrupt。 While the ending reveals where the characters are, it leaves a transitional gap that made me feel unsatisfied。 The "villain" doesn't change even through plenty opportunity; The HEA just popped up without much warning, leaving the reader to imagine what transpired between them that made them fall in love。 Perhaps the focus on too many characters resulted in less interaction between the two main characters。 Would have liked to read more about them 。 Also would have like the villain to have learned from her mistakes。 As much time as was spent on her despicable character, it would have been nice to see her change her ways。 Just saying。。。。。。 。。。more

This is a story of love, loss, growth, endurance, values, goals and family。 It is a keeper and one I would reread in the future。What I liked: * Mackenzie: dedicated, focused, interesting。 She has been stymied for a while and may need to move on from the safe haven she has lived within for over a decade and a half。 She has a rough time of it but comes through rather brilliantly in the end。 * Catherine: sister-in-law to Mackenzie, loving, kind, in tune with the earth, grounded, warm, creative…really liked her。* Stephanie: sister-in-law to Mackenzie, divorced, mother of two teens, stuck in a rut and trying to move forward but it isn’t easy for her to do so。 She is Mackenzie’s best friend and has been since college。 * Bruno: wealthy, attractive, investor, wine distributor, and intriguing。 He is warm, a good friend, caring, communicates brilliantly and is perfect for the woman he ends up with。 * Kyle: a good father, professional, a bit selfish…divorced from Stephanie and father of her children* Rhys: not a bad guy, married to Mackenzie, wants what is best for both of them, a bit heavy handed at times and sometimes rather clueless…and also selfish, perhaps。 * Georgio: a good man, loving, kind, generous, and perfect for the right woman – the boyfriend of Barbara (mother-in-law of Mackenzie)* The close relationships that were friendly, warm, and caring。 * That there was growth in a number of characters。* The dynamics between various individuals and groups。* The way verbalization of feelings, thoughts, and insight into the characters* Learning a bit more about the winemaking business。* The setting – love that area of the world!* All of it really except…What I didn’t like: * Barbara: I won’t give details but if you read the book you will probably feel the same* Lori: daughter of Barbara and quite a bit like her, I fear。 * The sadness I felt as I empathized with Mackenzie。Did I enjoy this book?
