In this second book of the series， we get both Elise and Caleb’s point of view。 Although it starts out slow， romance， royals， Fae， prophecies， war and danger along with court intrigue are all that’s needed to keep the story engaging。 Good read。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。

I really enjoyed this book。 It kept my attention and I really enjoyed the story line and character development， and some if the plot twists kept the book flowing nicely！Can’t wait for the next book in the series！

I immediately started this after book one and it floored me！The action and the way the plot progressed were just perfect！ I didn't think it was possible but I fell more in love with the characters！！ So many to love and so many to torture！！！ Elise and Valen are that good at being absolutely adorable！ The contrasts were beautiful to see and I loved their dynamic。 Halvar owns my top favorite character position steadily！ There were so many " No。。。。。。。 Why？！？！" moments and the ending was such a slap I immediately started this after book one and it floored me！The action and the way the plot progressed were just perfect！ I didn't think it was possible but I fell more in love with the characters！！ So many to love and so many to torture！！！ Elise and Valen are that good at being absolutely adorable！ The contrasts were beautiful to see and I loved their dynamic。 Halvar owns my top favorite character position steadily！ There were so many " No。。。。。。。 Why？！？！" moments and the ending was such a slap on the face。 I mean。。。。 it was right there ！！！ I need the sequel now！！！ 。。。more

Saying I am obsessed with this story is an understatement。 I groaned out loud when I got to the end because I was not ready！ January 31 cannot come soon enough！ Loved the dual POV in this one so much！ There were so many moments that I absolutely loved。 SO GOOD！

I ADORE this sequel as much as I loved Curse of Shadows and Thorns！！ This time around we get a dual POV and I loved how it's done here。 This way we get a little bit into what's going on in Valen and Elise's minds and why they're acting the way they are。 This way I didn't feel angry or annoyed at either one for making dumb decisions。 I got to see the why behind their decision making。 They're both trying to deal with all the craziness that is the end of book 1！ I loved how authentic both their poi I ADORE this sequel as much as I loved Curse of Shadows and Thorns！！ This time around we get a dual POV and I loved how it's done here。 This way we get a little bit into what's going on in Valen and Elise's minds and why they're acting the way they are。 This way I didn't feel angry or annoyed at either one for making dumb decisions。 I got to see the why behind their decision making。 They're both trying to deal with all the craziness that is the end of book 1！ I loved how authentic both their points of views felt while dealing with everything。 Superb writing！ Ohh and the steam level went up a little in this book and it was fabulous and so well done！！！Characters are fleshed out well！ I wanted to hit Mattis over the head a few times。 Surprisingly， I really enjoyed Ari。 I thought I was going to hate him but I enjoyed his clever mind and witty banter。 Halvar is one of my absolute favorite characters！！ He's just so funny and endearing！ The world building and battle scenes are epic！ I saw it， I felt it， I loved it all！ I definitely got more Vikings vibes out of this book than the first and I'm here for it！ I felt the pacing was really well done in this book and I couldn't put it down！ Another book I read all in 1 sitting！！I love how each book is set。 There's a great ending that feels complete but leaves you wanting more - like a small cliffhanger so you're dying for the next book but not done in a way that made me throw the book at the wall！ I'm once again impatiently awaiting the next book！ This is quickly becoming one of my new fav series！！ Thank you LJ for this wonderful series！！ I need to go read your back list now！！！ 。。。more

Holy smokes！ This was just one intense chapter after another！ I can’t even describe just how much I loved reading this book！ I am so happy for Elise and yet so worried。 Calista dropped quite an interesting prophesy before she left。 I am worried what it means。 I am so excited for the next book…I can’t wait！
