Summary

When one of Santa’s reindeer meets a grisly end during the annual A Downtown Dickens Christmas Festival, Rue realizes her enemies are closing in on her location, and Samford will pay the price。

But when one creature turns into two, and two into three, and then three into four, Rue knows the problem is bigger than a singular threat to her new hometown。 And that’s before a holiday shopper strolls into Hollis Apothecary claiming to be a long-lost relative。 Of her father’s。

As old loyalties are tested and new relationships threaten to unravel the fabric of her identity, Rue must choose either the family she was born into or the one she created for herself, and the losing side might not survive her decision。

The truth is finally coming outOnce again we are dragged into Rue’s life without a clue as to how amazing the adventure will be。 That dang Grimoire is still holding on to its secrets, questions about Rue’s father are lurking around every turn and Asa, oh Asa…

No spoilers Just finished this book and I loved it。 The deeper this series goes the more I just love it。 The fact that Rue is not perfect I appreciate。 They all own their faults and keep trying to do better。 Can’t wait for book 4

Giada, PieCaken, and FascinationNo spoilers。 I cannot get enough of Hailey’s books and absolutely love that she includes the familiar parts of her TBGTN world with Rue’s。 Despite finding new information while working a case, Rue continues to build her family, settle more into her home, and continue the fascination with Asa。 Hailey keeps us on our toes as their journey moves forward and the inside jokes she shares makes this series even more special。 I never thought I would love any characters mo Giada, PieCaken, and FascinationNo spoilers。 I cannot get enough of Hailey’s books and absolutely love that she includes the familiar parts of her TBGTN world with Rue’s。 Despite finding new information while working a case, Rue continues to build her family, settle more into her home, and continue the fascination with Asa。 Hailey keeps us on our toes as their journey moves forward and the inside jokes she shares makes this series even more special。 I never thought I would love any characters more than Grier and Linus, I’m slowly moving Asa, Rue and crew closer to the top。 I cannot wait for the next book! 。。。more

Ugh。 This author…… gets me every time。 I don’t know how she does it! She makes me care so much。 And Asa? How does she make both sides do perfect?

Black Truth, White Lies, the third book of the Black Hat Bureau series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU)。 Rue, Asa, Colby, and Clay are back, and this story was a perfect progression of this unusual, fast-paced series。 Edwards is a rare author who pays as much attention to the development of secondary characters as she does her main cast。 This story brought a host of new reveals and lots of smiles。 Story writing at its best。

Oh my goodness。 RUE AND COMPANY。 *heart eyes* Rue is this glorious mess (but not nearly the mess she was before) and she's unintentionally and very grudgingly surrounded herself with people who support her and keep her from backsliding and I AM SO HERE FOR IT。Rue is seriously digging her feet into even the idea of putting down roots without ever realizing just how many roots she has holding her to Samford。 Between her business and Arden and Camber, the home she's built for Colby, and the people Oh my goodness。 RUE AND COMPANY。 *heart eyes* Rue is this glorious mess (but not nearly the mess she was before) and she's unintentionally and very grudgingly surrounded herself with people who support her and keep her from backsliding and I AM SO HERE FOR IT。Rue is seriously digging her feet into even the idea of putting down roots without ever realizing just how many roots she has holding her to Samford。 Between her business and Arden and Camber, the home she's built for Colby, and the people of Samford who have accepted her as one of their own she's invested。 Throw in having her BFF Clay back, a new potential ally she offers sanctuary to, and the slowly progressing relationship with Asa and, well, Rue is practically tied up with a bow。Beyond Rue's ties she's attempting to downplay, she's also dealing with tracking down the supernatural critters that are causing a little havoc in the area。 Trying to fly under the radar while hunting blood-hungry creatures isn't as easy as it sounds。We get answers to questions that have been simmering in the background plus Rue stepping into a role she needed to step into, a deepening of her relationship with Asa and his daemon, and a whole lot of found family。 Good stuff。-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal 。。。more

I know that every time I pick up a book by this author, I will immediately be so involved in the story, I won’t get anything done。 Yes, that happened with this book。 Rue is still dealing with her “relationship” with Asa, keeping Colby under wraps, and demons wanting to duel with Asa when a reindeer is slaughtered in town, which turns into a new case。 But everything that Rue thinks she knows can change in an instant when she learns a family secret。 Oh, my, I just love this series, and we add a ne I know that every time I pick up a book by this author, I will immediately be so involved in the story, I won’t get anything done。 Yes, that happened with this book。 Rue is still dealing with her “relationship” with Asa, keeping Colby under wraps, and demons wanting to duel with Asa when a reindeer is slaughtered in town, which turns into a new case。 But everything that Rue thinks she knows can change in an instant when she learns a family secret。 Oh, my, I just love this series, and we add a new character to Rue’s family who I absolutely adore。 This series is getting better and better, and I can’t wait until I’m lost to this world again, hopefully very soon。 Well-written urban fantasy with a dash of romance。 Highly recommend。 I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed。 。。。more

Black hearted fun & a little ChristmasLots of character development that just pulls you in even more。 Rue & the gang's story ramps up and you get answers, but more questions too。 Really great monsters and a seamless mix of what you'd expect for third book in the arc with just enough Xmas for a perfectly timed release。 Absolutely in love with this series! Perfectly engaging! This Black Hat installment, gave us more。 More answers, more questions, more family, more villains and more love。 More to learn and watch as each character grows and changes。 Colby is growing into her power, Asa and Rue are growing together, Clay is the wild card I am concerned about! Cannot wait for MORE!!

Wonderful Hailey has once again outdone herself。 This is honestly the best Blackhat book so far。 You get more family history, more Asa, and more feelings。 Yes, feelings。 This book didn't feel so disconnected this time, and I think that's because Rue is better connected to her feelings。 That's all the spoiler I'm giving, it's too delicious to ruin。 Wonderful Hailey has once again outdone herself。 This is honestly the best Blackhat book so far。 You get more family history, more Asa, and more feelings。 Yes, feelings。 This book didn't feel so disconnected this time, and I think that's because Rue is better connected to her feelings。 That's all the spoiler I'm giving, it's too delicious to ruin。 。。。more
