Summary

Following the explosive events of The Damned, Odette faces a vampire's final death。 The Court of the Lions have done everything they can to save her but have failed。 A healer from the Sylvan Vale could help her, but only Arjun Desai, as a half fey, can cross the boundary between realms。 The Sylvan Vale is a world Arjun despises, and in return, it despises him。 But knowing it could save Odette, he returns to the Vale with all haste, leaving the mirrored tare between the two worlds open and unwittingly setting the stage for both love and war。

It's mere days until Pippa Montrose is to wed Phoebus Devereux and become a member of his well-heeled family, offering salvation to her own。 But Celine is missing。 Pippa has no idea where her best friend has gone, but she's certain it's in the company of vampire Sébastien Saint Germain and that Arjun can lead her to them。 Pippa enjoins the help of Eloise, the daughter of a powerful sorceress, to discover the gateway Arjun uses to travel between worlds。 Pippa, tired of hesitating in life, marches right through in search of her friend。 But what she discovers on the other side is a dangerous, duplicitous world full of mischief and magic she doesn't understand, and most unexpectedly, she finds love。

In this latest installment of The New York Times bestselling series that began with The Beautiful, Pippa journeys to the treacherous and beguiling world of the fey in search of answers only to fall in love。

Thank you to Penguin Teen for an ARC in exchange for and honest review。Was The Righteous what I was expecting? No。 Did I still love it? Yes!! OMG! If you know you know。The only downside to this is that we do see a tiny bit of Celine and Sebastiana and honestly I did not like Celine。 She didn’t feel like the same character from the first two books。 I can’t put my finger on what it was, but I honestly didn’t care for reading her parts。 I still loved Bastien just as much! I do wish that one of the main points of this book would have been figured out and completed, because I feel like a lot of things happened towards the end and I am scared what that means for the final book。 A lot has to be wrapped up。I am really glad that Ahdieh decided to go this route because it kept my entertained and added so much more to the plot。 。。。more

3,5* rounded to 4This is not the best book in this series and I felt a bit confused at the beginning as it took me a bit to catch up with the plot and the characters。It's slow burning and sometimes even a bit too slow。 Characters and world building are as fascinating as usual but the storytelling was a bit off。I want to know what will happen but I wasn't a fan of this book。Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine 3,5* rounded to 4This is not the best book in this series and I felt a bit confused at the beginning as it took me a bit to catch up with the plot and the characters。It's slow burning and sometimes even a bit too slow。 Characters and world building are as fascinating as usual but the storytelling was a bit off。I want to know what will happen but I wasn't a fan of this book。Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine 。。。more

3。5/5 Stars: THE RIGHTEOUS was an interesting book in that Renee Ahdieh deviates from her dual POVs of Celine and Bastien and gives us POVs from Pippa and Arjun for the majority of the book。 We also get snippets from Michael Grimaldi and other auxiliary characters。 Ahdieh also gives us a major expansion of the world of THE BEAUTIFUL by taking us deep into the heart of the land of the fey。 For the most part, I thought that these choices paid off。 Pippa and Arjun were a really sweet pair to watch 3。5/5 Stars: THE RIGHTEOUS was an interesting book in that Renee Ahdieh deviates from her dual POVs of Celine and Bastien and gives us POVs from Pippa and Arjun for the majority of the book。 We also get snippets from Michael Grimaldi and other auxiliary characters。 Ahdieh also gives us a major expansion of the world of THE BEAUTIFUL by taking us deep into the heart of the land of the fey。 For the most part, I thought that these choices paid off。 Pippa and Arjun were a really sweet pair to watch as they find their fates intertwined as Arjun searches for a healer for Odette and Pippa tries to figure out what happened to Celine。 The banter and the romance between them was to die for and made me smile more often than not。 Ahdieh's writing style and sense of romance remains absolutely impeccable and her prose is flawless。 I really enjoyed seeing more of how the Sylvan Vale and Sylvan Wyld worked and the different power dynamics and characters at play there。 At the same time, though, there were times when the complex world-building and the multiple POVs made me feel confused as to what was going on, especially towards the latter half of the book。 However, I still remain an avid fan of Ahdieh and this world, this story and these characters。 THE RIGHTEOUS is a story about the lengths we'd go to to help those we love, and the unexpected connections made when we follow our hearts。ttttttttttttttt 。。。more

I enjoy the previous two books, but I think this was is actually my favorite。 In the previous books I wasn’t a fan of Pippa and Arjun but The Righteous changed my mind。 I simply loved them here。 It was great getting to know more about them in this book。I was captivated by The Righteous since the beginning and couldn’t stop reading。I can’t wait for the next book in the series to see where to author takes the story next。Arc generously provided via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review。

Renée Ahdieh never fails to miss with her books and "The Righteous" is no exception to that rule。 Ahdieh's writing is just phenomenal as we follow Pippa, on the hunt to find Celine, and Arjun, trying to save Odette, when the two of them both end up in the fae realm (EEEEEE!!!), where nothing is as it seems。 I love to see the spotlight in Pippa, and while I wasn't the biggest fan of her in the previous books, I loved how her story was developed and we got to see so much more insight into who she Renée Ahdieh never fails to miss with her books and "The Righteous" is no exception to that rule。 Ahdieh's writing is just phenomenal as we follow Pippa, on the hunt to find Celine, and Arjun, trying to save Odette, when the two of them both end up in the fae realm (EEEEEE!!!), where nothing is as it seems。 I love to see the spotlight in Pippa, and while I wasn't the biggest fan of her in the previous books, I loved how her story was developed and we got to see so much more insight into who she is。 While Ahdieh's writing is truly a joy to read, I must say that this book is certainly character-driven and relatively slow paced, but the characters and lush setting make it overall an enjoyable read。 I CANNOT wait for the final installment in the series and I dont know how I'll be able to wait this long after that ending! The way they slowly open up to each other in a way they haven't with anyone else is lovely to read and I felt like their romance was the sole focus of most of this book (which I can't complain about honestly)。 The way Arjun respects Pippa and wants her to make choices for herself without any coercion despite his own feelings is fantastic。I have to say, this book seems much different from the series。 Not only does it take place away from New Orleans, but we also don’t see The Court of Lions。 There is a new court and a whole new cast of characters to focus on。 It’s also more of a slow burn; setting up the romance and the drama ahead。 I didn’t dislike it, but it took me longer to adapt to these bigger changes and get into the stories。 By the end though I was completely invested and now after that cliffhanger…。 WE WAIT FOR MORE 。Thank you to the publishers for a digital copy of this book。 。。。more

(Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher。 This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest。) Considering all the revelations from The Damned, and the pacing, I wasn't sure how to approach The Righteous。 But then I found out that Arjun and Pippa were basically the main characters throughout the book and I was sold。 I was so intrigued by these characters in the other books and I loved seeing Arjun and Pippa bloom。 Also they are now my favorite ship of the entire series okay (Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher。 This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest。) Considering all the revelations from The Damned, and the pacing, I wasn't sure how to approach The Righteous。 But then I found out that Arjun and Pippa were basically the main characters throughout the book and I was sold。 I was so intrigued by these characters in the other books and I loved seeing Arjun and Pippa bloom。 Also they are now my favorite ship of the entire series okay!? Not only that, but I feel like the pacing was more even in The Righteous - sure there were twists at the end - but the action beforehand was spaced out。If you also like those VERY dangerous Fae, with cruelty and a bit too much immortality, then you will love this book。 Overall, there was just so much to love in The Righteous。 With the title alone, this book asks questions about what choices are right, who is in the right。 But undoubtedly I fell in love again with Pippa and Arjun。 Ahdieh allows them to truly shine and to expose their vulnerabilities and fears。 And what relatable, empathetic, fragile, vulnerable characters they are。full review: https://utopia-state-of-mind。com/revi。。。 。。。more

Thanks for the free book PRH International! I went into this book blind, I wasn't aware that it was going to focus solely on Pippa and Arjun。 At first I was disappointed because I wanted more Bastien and Celine scenes BUT a few chapters reading about Pippa and Arjun captivated me, and both of them really intrigued me。 Renee Ahdieh never fails to write a story that is so intricate and magical。 I am a huge fan of faes in fantasy books, and my queen did not disappoint with her unique world-building Thanks for the free book PRH International! I think I may love Pippa more than I love Celine, it's the way she holds herself and love the people in her life that had me appreciating her and loving her as well。 I love how brave she was to go to the Vale to go and search for Celine and I love how strong she was despite knowing how dangerous the fae world is。 As I got to know more about her and her story, it was safe to say that she is one of my favorite female characters。 Arjun on the other hand, is a male character to swoon for! He is such an adorable and lovable character, if you love a "I would burn the world for you" type of guy then you'll love Arjun! The slow burn romance was beautifully written as well。 They both had difficulty opening up to the idea of love, but I love how they trusted one another and showed their vulnerabilities。 They had such a great chemistry and friendship which I think adds another factor as to why they are so good together! What had me actually screaming in this book was the last page, the last sentence to be exact! Of course I'm not saying anything about that except that if you have read The Wrath and The Dawn duology, you'd know exactly how I feel and you'd know that there are so many things running on my mind right now!!!! SO WITH THAT ALL BEING SAID, ADD THIS BOOK TO YOUR TBR NOW!!! Renee Ahdieh never disappoints! 。。。more

The Righteous by Renee Ahdieh is another solid fantasy romance with drama, intrigue, and betrayals。 This book in her series features the romance of Pippa and Arjun, and I really enjoyed their dynamic and chemistry。 It was a little strange for book 3 to be focused on side characters from books one and two, but I feel like this author is so talented she pulled it off。

I’m not ready for this series to end yet。 I could hang out with these characters forever。 The sense of found family is a common thread throughout these books。 Each character has felt out of place in society before。 Then, they meet each other and finally have a family of their own。 It’s so heartwarming。 If you enjoyed the previous two books, I think you’ll enjoy Pippa and Arjun’s story。 Arjun is the sweetest little cinnamon roll。 。。。more

I loved The Beautiful - it was a 5 star read when I read it a few years ago! Had me screaming, crying, and throwing up。 Seeing bits of Celine and Bastien was so nice, especially as you start to realise that the two couples are closer to finding each other more and more with every passing page and that hell is sure to break loose when they do。The story kind of drags on a little as the entire book takes place over just a few days。 However as you get closer to the ending, the anticipation of everyone meeting again really builds up。 And the ending?? Oh my gods the ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Y’all I didn't even know that Renee had confirmed that there would be a crossover with The Wrath and The Dawn until I read some of the reviews of The Righteous to make sure it wasn't a fever dream。 And then on top of the epic crossover is the Epilogue of ultimate betrayal。 Has me on the edge of my seat for the fourth book。 。。。more

This book reminded me of stars in a dark velvet sky。 It captivated me from the first words, sent shivers up my arms。 I loved the first two in The Beautiful series so much, and I am so glad the adventures continue! The writing was lush, decadent, glamorous, and yet had just enough edge and grit。 I could experience every sense, feel every emotion。 I loved traveling to a new world that was akin to a dreamy nightmare, but through everything, I felt like I was still within The Beautiful universe。 The This book reminded me of stars in a dark velvet sky。 It captivated me from the first words, sent shivers up my arms。 I loved the first two in The Beautiful series so much, and I am so glad the adventures continue! Also, this cover, I am absolutely obsessed。 This series covers have no parallel! 。。。more

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and Penguin Random House。 All opinions are my own!Pippa is tired of her life being dictated by men。 When her best friend goes missing into the world of fey, she follows closely behind, only to find a bit more than she bargained for along the way。Where do I start with my obsession for this series?! How about the amazingly rich and beautiful fantasy world that has been created in these books? The story of vampires, werewolves, and the fey may seem like one that you've heard over and over again。 But there's something about the way that Ahdieh crafts her version that makes it feel like nothing I've ever encountered before。 Between the stunning backdrop of New Orleans to the mystical world of the fey that this book brings in, you feel immersed in these worlds from the very beginning。And don't get me started on the characters。 They are all so real and raw that it's pretty much impossible to not fall in love with them。 They each have their own flaws that make them heartbreakingly relatable, and even though they are mythical creatures, they are so horribly human。 I have absolutely loved watching their stories unfold。 They are some of my favorite characters - you'll just have to read for yourself to find out why!I will say that the first half of the book felt a little weird to me。 I hadn't been expecting such a heavy shift of POV to Pippa and Arjun。 But in the end, I found myself fangirling over them just as hard (if not harder) as I have over Celine and Bastien。 And in the end, I was screaming because I need to know what's going to happen next! I need to know - like yesterday! If you're looking for a unique story about the world of vampires, werewolves, and fey, this is the stunning series for you! 。。。more

You GUYS!!!! This BOOK!!! Okay, I've been really enjoying the entire series, but The Righteous steps up with so much drama, tension, romance, and some solid twists! It's got the fake engagement trope (LOVE), and spends most of the book in the world of the fae, so if you're into that you really need to get on this series! It's also got casual diversity, intersectional feminism, sex positivity。 So really what more do I need to say to sell you on it??Okay, but I have to mention a THING that she doe You GUYS!!!! Yes, really! (for those who don't know, this was the first series she wrote) Suffice to say I freaking loved this and cannot wait to see where book 4 takes us! I received an advance copy of this book for review via NetGalley。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

The incredibly enthralling and hotly anticipated third book of Renée Ahdieh’s utterly decadent historical YA Fantasy series is just so addictive。 I was hooked from the very first page and literally couldn’t put it down。Odette is on her deathbed and The Court of the Lions have done everything they can。 Now, only a healer from the Sylvan Vale can save her and Arjun Desai (a half fey) is the only one able to cross the boundary between realms。 He despises his former home, but knowing it’s the only w The incredibly enthralling and hotly anticipated third book of Renée Ahdieh’s utterly decadent historical YA Fantasy series is just so addictive。 I was hooked from the very first page and literally couldn’t put it down。Odette is on her deathbed and The Court of the Lions have done everything they can。 Now, only a healer from the Sylvan Vale can save her and Arjun Desai (a half fey) is the only one able to cross the boundary between realms。 He despises his former home, but knowing it’s the only way to save Odette leads him to return and leaving a mirrored tare open between worlds。It’s only days until Pippa Montrose is to wed Phoebus Devereux, becoming a member of his well respected family and offering her the salvation she desires。 But Celine is missing, Pippa is certain she’s with Bastien Saint Germain and beloved Arjun can lead her to them。 With the help of Eloise (daughter of a powerful sorceress) Pippa discovers the gateway and slips through in search of her friend。 But what she finds is a world of danger, duplicity and magic she doesn’t quite understand。 This was soo incredibly spellbinding, I loved every single second of it! Unlike the previous books, The Righteous focuses more on some of the supporting characters like Pippa, Eloise and Arjun and I really enjoyed reading from their POVs。 All the characters were well written but I absolutely loved Pippa and Arjun, the swoon-worthy chemistry between them was simply incredible (I’ve actually been waiting for them to spend more time together since first meeting in The Beautiful。) I’m surprised to be saying this but they’ve surpassed my Bastien and Celine as my favourite couple, which I never thought possible。 I’m also pleased to report the world building is even more deliciously detailed than in the previous books。 We get to explore the Sylvan Vale (and it’s inhabitants) like never before, which was truly fascinating and definitely added more depth both to the world and to the characters who reside in it。 There’s not much else I can say without spoiling the entire plot but I definitely recommend to fans of Paranormal or YA Fantasy—trust me you’re going to love this series! Thanks to Hodder&Stoughton and Netgalley for the e-arc。 。。。more

The Righteous brings fairytales and nightmares to life in this alluring and beautifully poetic story about stepping into the unknown and taking charge of one’s own fate。🖤After the shocking events of The Damned, we follow the story of the British outcast, Pippa, and the charismatic Court of the Lions member, Arjun, as they fall into a world full of traps, riddles and illusions, and only can depend on one thing to survive, each other。😱👀After finishing this book, I am left completely SPEECHLESS。🤯🤭 The Righteous brings fairytales and nightmares to life in this alluring and beautifully poetic story about stepping into the unknown and taking charge of one’s own fate。🖤After the shocking events of The Damned, we follow the story of the British outcast, Pippa, and the charismatic Court of the Lions member, Arjun, as they fall into a world full of traps, riddles and illusions, and only can depend on one thing to survive, each other。😱👀After finishing this book, I am left completely SPEECHLESS。🤯🤭 Wow, just wow。 Renée has expanded her world of supernatural creatures beyond the streets of New Orleans and into uncharted territories, much like Alice’s adventures through the looking glass, and it was truly enchanting!✨This book was full of endearing moments, witty banter, and heartwarming romance, and I have to say, I fell for these two cuties with their adorable quirks and unexpected love story。🥺 (Arjun completely MELTED my heart!!😍😍) You can’t help but want to root for them individually and as a team。 And they make one awesome team!👏🏻This series will always be a favorite of mine because it speaks to the lost, the broken, and the misfits with strong themes of choosing your own family, loving fiercely, and being unapologetically yourself。🥺❤️ And after that ending, I’m absolutely DYING for the next book! (And extremely sad it will be the last。😭)☆☆☆☆。25*Thank you to Penguin Teen for sending me a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review。* 。。。more
