It was a very good book my favorite part was when everyone thought Harry Potter was going to let sylitherin win the cup of how many points they got but at the end Harry and Ron Hermione got points then one last person from Griffindor got point and won the cup and sylitherin lost and to me that’s all that matters to me because Draco Malfoy make me sick to my stomach period。

When this book reached from London toward the other side of the world I must admit I had little interest in reading the newest craze! Frankly, a common boy who discovers he's a wizard and is sent to learn magic away from his rotten family members just did not appeal to me。 I tried to read them but no matter what happened they just couldn't seem to hold my interest。“I’ve come to bring Harry to his aunt and uncle。 They’re the only family he has left now。” Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Harry Potter, Year 1) Now, after many years have passed I have picked up the famous book (well after the wands have been put away and the spells have been cast!) and found myself enjoying the world of witches and wizards like I haven't in previous years! I understand (now) why children and adults are reading the books together as a family。 No matter what your age or gender it truly is a book that could be re-read by any group of people。 Readers and non-readers alike。Although I could not relate to a character in the book I did enjoy the odd-ball Neville and his quirks that never seem to leave him unscathed。 He seemed to me to be the most loyal of the group and still he was very much a loner。 Not by choice but one all the same。Ron was a fairly annoying young boy and seems a bit too eager to become "famous Harry Potters" friend。 He (if any) seems to be the one you would slowly dismember from the group。。。 or kill off!As for Harry Potter I thought he was a bit of a cheeky boy and had a small lack of respect for adults or following the rules。 Seeing as it is only his first year at the school and he knows so little about the magic world you would think he would want to follow the guidelines the teachers have put in place。 He did try but it seems he was never given proper guidance or care and his actions show it!Believe it or not I also liked Petunia very much。 I will be most interested to get to know her character better。 I have a feeling that she loved her sister very, very much and her sister simply left her alone to go off into the Wizard world, leaving her behind and that ignited a sadness and loneliness that Petunia masks with anger and resentment。I can understand why this book is so popular and I myself have started to really like them。 However, I can never seem to get past book three without thinking about how obvious J。K。 Rowlingis with the descriptions of the housing unit at Hogwarts。 “There’s not a single witch or wizard who wasn’t in Slytherin。 You-Know-Who was one。” Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Harry Potter, Year 1) 。。。more

I'm glad I finally decided to read this。 It was a fun read, the story was captivating and I was instantly drawn into the magical world。 I don't have a favourite character yet, though。 I'm glad I finally decided to read this。 It was a fun read, the story was captivating and I was instantly drawn into the magical world。 I don't have a favourite character yet, though。 。。。more

Un clásico del cine y una obra literaria sublime, divertida y llena de esa magia con la que crecimos muchos viendo pelis de los 2000s。 Sin mucho que decir, la disfrute e hizo volar mi imaginación con los inicios de este mago。

Reading the first book again after almost 20 years is like meeting old friends and family。 From the first page it felt like jumping back into the Harry Potter universe。

I can't believe how long I waited to read (listen) to this book and I can't believe how amazing it was to listen to this book in Spanish。 I haven't laughed so hard at a book in a long time。 I can't believe how long I waited to read (listen) to this book and I can't believe how amazing it was to listen to this book in Spanish。 I haven't laughed so hard at a book in a long time。 。。。more

Rereading this for the first time since I was like nine years old。 It is a harry potter book so of course I love it, it is also one of the early books where they’re all so young, innocent, and unharmed。 But, this is a hard one to really get into considering the fact that like 100 pages is just introductory bullshit and you don’t even get magic or golden trio moments for a long time。 I love it but in the grand scheme of harry potter books, it’s obviously not the best one。

Perhaps a great plot and imaginitive story line, but I was disappointed in the quality of the writing。 Sorry all you Harry Potter fans。

Even after the 8273 reread, I still love it just as much ❤️ It’s exactly what I needed, a wholesome, nostalgia filled read。 This book/series will forever be my comfort read。

Very good introduction to the series and gets me excited for the next but but it is a little bit childish

After all, the reader had to be introduced to the magical world and the characters! 。。。more

Ogolnie lubię tą historię, a czytając w oryginale jest jeszcze bardziej klimatyczne。

There are two kind of people in the world, those you have read Harry Potter and those who have not。 It’s one of these books that changes your life, your way of approaching to the world, to people, you’re way of thinking… Life is too short not to read the Harry Potter serie at least once, you don’t want to do that to yourself。 I started reading HP when I was little and from then it became part of who I am。 They are my safe books。 When reality sucks I know I can count on it。

Angelina

An amazing best-selling novel and great introduction to how Harry found out that he was a wizard and how he discovered Hogwarts along the way while making friends and saving the day!!
