This was really cute and funny! It's sweet that Squirrel's friend Bird explains autumn to him, but in a slightly more understanding way would have been a little better。 This was really cute and funny! This picture book is so cute! My storytime kids had a fun time listening to me read this。

Cute illustrations, but storytelling is not so great。 Good book maybe to explain to younger children about changing seasons。

Sandi Prescott

Short but cute。

Cute book, both in illustrations and story。 I liked the panic on Squirrel's face and the frustation on bird's。 Cute book, both in illustrations and story。 I liked the panic on Squirrel's face and the frustation on bird's。 。。。more

When a squirrel who is enjoying her beautiful autumn day by counting her leaves notices that one is missing, she looks everywhere, asks a friends to help, even asks the mouse if the leaf his is using is the missing leaf。 His friend the bird explains that it is perfectly natural to lose leaves this time of year, but squirrel is even more upset the next day, as even more leaves seem to be gone。 Squirrel is a wreck。 That crazy squirrel! A super funny book about a squirrel who doesn't understand why the leaves are disappearing。 Better for one-on-one lower elementary due to small text and images。 A super funny book about a squirrel who doesn't understand why the leaves are disappearing。 Better for one-on-one lower elementary due to small text and images。 。。。more

Squirrel thinks his neighbors are stealing his leaves as they turn color in the fall。 His good friend bird reminds him that this happened last year too。 A humorous and cute look at the season of autumn。 Great to share with preschoolers and young elementary children。The illustrations are lovely and there is much to look at。

This little squirrel made us all giggle。 The colours are gorgeous and the illustrations are beautiful。 Simple science and fun facts combined wth sweet characters and beautiful puctures makes this a new favourite here。

This author NAILED the personality of a squirrel, the hyper, busy, worried and forgetful mode of looking at the world。 Good old bird next door is there to sort it all out。 Fabulous illustrations by Nicola Slater, and a wonderful author's note in the back (how clever to use the endpaper!) gives information about how and why trees lose their leaves。 This author NAILED the personality of a squirrel, the hyper, busy, worried and forgetful mode of looking at the world。 Good old bird next door is there to sort it all out。 Fabulous illustrations by Nicola Slater, and a wonderful author's note in the back (how clever to use the endpaper!) gives information about how and why trees lose their leaves。 。。。more

I cannot decide which I loved more, the bright, bold, colorful illustrations or the charming and hilarious story about the transition of the seasons as seen with the leaves falling from Squirrel's tree。 Squirrel is terrified that someone is stealing their leaves! This book is very cute, but also a little annoying to read。 Every sentence is an exclamation and a bit exhausting。 My 7&9 year old boys found it funny (it is, to be fair)。 The illustrations are adorable, which is another plus。 So, meh for me。

WONDERFUL autumn story。 The end pages explain the seasonal change。 Highly recommend。

A great way to explore the changing seasons with children。 I read this to a Year 2 class (6-7 y/os) who were really engaged and understood the concept through a follow-up discussion after the story。 There was also a theme about mindfulness when the Owl suggested to the Squirrel to try and relax。This was a good book for this age group as the children had prior knowledge to seasons。

I personally like it but it's not my favourite。 My four year old daughter on the other hand absolutely loves it and has pretty much the whole book memorised。 I don't even need to turn the pages。 Therefore I think it deserves five stars。 I personally like it but it's not my favourite。 My four year old daughter on the other hand absolutely loves it and has pretty much the whole book memorised。 I don't even need to turn the pages。 Therefore I think it deserves five stars。 。。。more
