This is a fantastic set， with amazing world-building and character development。 This author really knows how to write a strong， kick-a$$ heroine。 I love the diverse variety of paranormal creatures in these books （merfolk， sea dragons， zombie sharks， and ghost pirates， oh my！） This series is full of action， adventure， humor， and a touch of romance。 Very enjoyable and engaging。I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review。

as her son is living with his druid father in the human realm and she is stuck in Fomoria。 The king sends his merlegion to attack the wyrms， believing them to be a threat， but the even bigger threat is from something known as the voidbringer， that has been pulled into their world and could destroy everything。 Joni or La Sirene， as she becomes known， has to become the first ever Wyrmrider of myth， along with her friends， Agwe， Tahlia and Cleo。 Her son Merlin has a huge role to play in the storyline， having inherited his father’s Druid powers， as well as her ability to siphon others magic and part of the dragon essence she has， as well as her Fomorian ancestry。 He is destined to be a Gatekeeper of the void， to stop creatures that don’t belong in her world from escaping the void and causing chaos。 In book two， Joni Campbell as she was known in her human life， is now the Queen of Fomoria， Queen of the Seas， the famous Wyrmrider， La Sirene， and was forced to marry the demigod Agwe at the end of the first book。 Her husband is too out of touch with any human or merfolk sensibilities to act in a normal manner with Joni and she finds it hard to accept any sort of relationship with him， other than the one which helped to save everybody previously。 She is trying to adjust to her new role as Queen of the Fomorian merfolk， but she is more concerned about the city’s security after all of the mer legionnaires were turned into zombies， all bar Titus， and had to be destroyed。 She is waiting for another attack to come， from the wicked caplata or bokors， who created these shark zombies。 She knows they will attack again， but not when。 She has her only friend Tahlia， who is also only half Fomorian and had struggled to be accepted by the previous King。 Tahlia has taken over the role as Priestess for the merfolk after Chloe died to save her。 They can’t allow any humans or merfolk to be bitten， otherwise there will be a zombie apocalypse！ If they want to stop the zombie sharks altogether， they need to find the bokor responsible and put a stop to them first。 Joni has to go and find some assistance from Marie Laveau in New Orleans and get a lead on which caplata or bokor is responsible， so she can stop them。 She finds herself on a journey to the past， with the usual cryptic clues as to what action to take and who to ask for help。 Nico the Damned， the first vampire， is tasked with helping her find a caplata near her family mansion， with the warning that Joni not interfere with any of her ancestors in person， nor get close to their plantation！ Betrayal and death will follow Joni as she tries to save the merfolk and the world， as before， with so much more happening in this book。Book three sees Joni and Agwe struggling with the romantic side of their marriage， with Agwe still not understanding her very human look at romance， since he never had any issues getting a woman in his previous god like existence。 It’s been almost a year since they had to fight against Odette， but the ghost ship and her female ancestor are still out there， gaining power over time。 What Nephtalie has in store for Fomoria and Joni， or the world in general is still unknown。 With Joni’s family ability as a siphon， she could soon become too powerful for Joni and the Wyrmriders to defeat。 Joni has been trying to get to know her people， as well as Agwe， but some still resist the change to a new leader and style of leadership。 One visit to a merfolk home brings her a pair of eighteen year old twins， Finn， who wants to meet one of her merlegionnaires， the other an extremely intelligent young woman Shelley， who has a huge number of inventions she wants to try out for the queen and the merfolk。 Her first is to bring electricity to the community， instead of them having to use plant life。 Shelley’s will use a chemical reaction， and make a central power plant， then run her version of wires to each spire。 An old and ancient foe has been found who has their own wishes for the world to be destroyed。 Joni is going to come into another of her powers， from her mix of and connections with ancient magic of the voodoo world， which will allow her to find the ghost ship and others who may be in spirit form。 Joni also has to worry about her vampire aspect， especially when she needs to go back on land， but this may well be what can save her soul in the end！ Lots of danger and undead to battle， as the new group of young wyrms and their inexperienced riders prepare as well。 The last book is a surprise addition to the boxset alone， with the new set of young wyrms coming of age and needing more Wyrmriders to be trained up for their important role in keeping Fomoria safe。 Joni is still considered an outsider by a small minority of the Fomorian merfolk， even though she is now their queen and has saved them and the whole world more than a couple of times。 She and Tahlia， now the High Priestess of Fomoria， are both half-breeds and until King Conand was defeated， only pure bloods were allowed in the underwater city！ Joni’s latest challenge is not going to come from a danger from the outside， but from within her own people， from those who see her rule as an abomination of the Fomorian way of life。 Someone will be allying themselves with a powerful foe of old and another Loa， without realising exactly what these beings really want。 Joni knows better than most what has almost happened under the forceful powers of certain Loas and is actually being blamed for all that has happened before， as it she herself orchestrated it all。 She has to fight for her position as queen and even defend her past actions， when all she wanted was for Fomoria to be a safer and better place for all to live in。 The last book is a great addition to Joni’s story and life in Fomoria， with danger around each corner， even though they have been lavishing in peace for a couple of years。 She knows danger can arrive at any time and is preparing the latest group of young wyrms and Wyrmriders for the task of defending their homes。 This series has been great fun to read and a thorough escape from reality！ I received an ARC copy of this boxset from BookSprout and I have freely As I have already read the first three books in this series， this review focuses mostly on the fourth and final book， Wyrmrider Academy。 I love this series and this final book was a great way to finish off the whole story and journey of Joni Campbell in becoming the queen of Fomoria。In Wyrmrider Academy， everything has calmed down after the events from the previous book， Wyrmrider Justice until the kings and queen from the other Fomoria kingdoms arrive with a completely unexpected announcement。 As I have already read the first three books in this series， this review focuses mostly on the fourth and final book， Wyrmrider Academy。 I love this series and this final book was a great way to finish off the whole story and journey of Joni Campbell in becoming the queen of Fomoria。In Wyrmrider Academy， everything has calmed down after the events from the previous book， Wyrmrider Justice until the kings and queen from the other Fomoria kingdoms arrive with a completely unexpected announcement。 Someone no longer wants Joni on the throne as their queen， but this time is not someone from outside of their world， but someone within and they seem to be willing to do whatever it takes to make sure she is dethroned。 However， there's more at play than just a kingdom takeover， but you'll have to read this final book to find out what and who is behind it all！ I love this world of mermaids and Loa， wyrms and dragons， vampires and voodoo queens！ Everything is so imaginative and descriptive。 I love the magical place that Theophilus Monroe has created here and the characters are unique and endearing too。 I love Joni and her willingness to do what is right for each and every person she meets， even if it means she has to make some decisions that I would not make myself。 She tries to see the good in everyone， although that is sometimes her downfall too。 This final book was the perfect ending for this series and their characters。 I hope we get to read more about Tahlia and her adventures in a new spinoff series soon。 I love Tahlia's character too - she is just so fun to read！ This series is such a fun read and if you haven't tried anything by this author before this will be a great one to start with。 The writing is fast paced and so creatively descriptive。 It just draws you in and always leaves you wanting more！ Thank you to Theo for sending me a copy of this book。 This review is all my own though！ 。。。more

Wow， what an ending to this boxset。 Action， more action and all sorts of things happening all the way through。 Couldn’t put it down。 What is it like in this authors mind， a maze of different ideas all formulating all the time I would think。 What’s next I wonder。 Highly recommended。

Theophilus Monroe has the knack to tell a story across several areas and do it impeccably。 This book set is an engaging tale of a Southern Belle with a punch， It is a tremendous read。
