Once upon a time， wizards tried to conquer the Sacred Realm of Hyrule。 The Spirits of Light sealed the wizards’ power within the Shadow Crystal and banished them to the Twilight Realm beyond the Mirror of Twilight。 Now， an evil menace is trying to find Midna， Princess of the Twilight Realm， and the fragments of the Shadow Crystal to gain the power to rule over both the Twilight Realm and the World of Light。

This came in the mail today （early！！） and I just couldn't wait to open it up and crack in。 In this volume， Link must defeat Zant and， like the video game， both he and Midna learn that Ganondorf has reawakened in the world of light and that his defeat is Midna's only escape from her curse。 Unlike the video game， however， we learn much more about Link's origins within the Twilight Princess storyline。 This obviously fills a lot of the gaps that the original video game does not really delve into （eg This came in the mail today （early！！） and I just couldn't wait to open it up and crack in。 In this volume， Link must defeat Zant and， like the video game， both he and Midna learn that Ganondorf has reawakened in the world of light and that his defeat is Midna's only escape from her curse。 Unlike the video game， however， we learn much more about Link's origins within the Twilight Princess storyline。 This obviously fills a lot of the gaps that the original video game does not really delve into （eg。 why does Link live on the outskirts of Ordon Village？ where are Link's parents/family？ where was Link originally from if not from Ordon Village？） in a way that makes sense and fits in with the rest of the lore from this iteration of Hyrule。 I had so much fun piecing it all together and I actually prefer this addition to the original video game vagueness as it fleshes him out a bit more and provides more motivation into his reasons to try and save both Hyrule and the Twilight Realm。 This is probably something people will either love or hate， but I really enjoyed it; probably partly because I have just finished playing Skyward Sword on the Nintendo Switch， and going through that storyline again got me thinking about all the bits in Twilight Princess on the Wii that I wished were given a bit more oomph。 。。。more

I loved the backstory on Zant and Midna in this part of the story and being in the Twilight Realm the whole book。 I am beyond excited for the last book！！！

How i feel about this volume is largely going to be determined by how this series presumably ties up its loose ends in the next volume。 As it stands， most of this is dedicated to Link’s confrontation with Zant the usurper king of the twilight realm。 Zant is among my favorite villains in all of gaming， and himekawa has done a good job of fleshing out what made him so compelling in the game。 The problem is the confrontation itself。 It’s both too drawn out but not climactic enough。 The volume makes How i feel about this volume is largely going to be determined by how this series presumably ties up its loose ends in the next volume。 As it stands， most of this is dedicated to Link’s confrontation with Zant the usurper king of the twilight realm。 Zant is among my favorite villains in all of gaming， and himekawa has done a good job of fleshing out what made him so compelling in the game。 The problem is the confrontation itself。 It’s both too drawn out but not climactic enough。 The volume makes up for it near the end with Link finding the missing village that he made disappear when he was younger。 That to me has been the most fascinating wrinkle that himekawa has added to the twilight princess story and it comes into play nicely here， even if it’s stumbled upon rather conveniently。 I’m interested to see how everything is wrapped up in what I’m assuming is the tenth and final volume。 。。。more

YES LINK！！！Art is amazing！！！ Storyline is heavily about friendship， loyalty and guiding principles。 Link deals with Zant in the shadow realm and finds his friend in this one！！！

Sigh 。 。 。 Well， I guess it was alright， but it could’ve been better。 Zant’s character felt inconsistent and his apparent infatuation with Midna felt completely out of the blue and out of character。 Link and Midna’s relationship started to feel like it was trying to be romantic， but it just came across as unnatural and weird。 Also， very little actually happened in this volume。 There was some action， maybe two or three events， but about 90% of it was the characters chatting with each other and su Sigh 。 。 。 Well， I guess it was alright， but it could’ve been better。 Zant’s character felt inconsistent and his apparent infatuation with Midna felt completely out of the blue and out of character。 Link and Midna’s relationship started to feel like it was trying to be romantic， but it just came across as unnatural and weird。 Also， very little actually happened in this volume。 There was some action， maybe two or three events， but about 90% of it was the characters chatting with each other and summing up stuff that we already know。 It was very repetitive。 The last third of the volume also included a lot of Kingdom-Hearts-style cringiness， but without the comical charm。 All in all， I really don’t think this volume added anything of value to the story。 If it had been the grand finale - if the story had actually progressed more - it might’ve been okay， but as is， it’s definitely my least favorite volume thus far。 As much as I love Twilight Princess， I sincerely hope this manga ends soon。 Even I feel it’s been dragging on too long now。 。。。more
