Summary

Death is the last lover you will ever know。

SOA Special Agent Patrick Collins has lived a life full of lies, and it has finally caught up with him。 There’s no denying his past any longer, not after giving up the truth to save himself from a murder charge。 But truth alone can’t set Patrick free, and time is running out to stop the Dominion Sect from turning his father into a god。

Jonothon de Vere knows survival isn’t a guarantee, but he’s desperate to keep Patrick safe, even as hope slips through his fingers。 With the future unknown, Jono will follow Patrick wherever he goes, even to Salem, where a family reunion reveals a bitter secret that was never going to stay buried。

With New York City under control of their god pack, Patrick and Jono must fall back on every alliance they’ve brokered to fill the front lines of a war coming directly to the city streets。 The veil is always thinnest on Samhain, and what awaits them on the other side is the stuff of nightmares。 For when it tears, all hell will break loose, and the gods will be summoned to face a reckoning the world isn’t ready for。

The stakes have never been higher, failure has never been so deadly, and the Fates have never been kind to heroes。 Patrick knows that better than anyone—because everything has a price, every debt always comes due, and it’s finally time for Patrick to pay his。

OmgI loved all books in the series and I'm sad that series has come to conclusion。 But I can't wait to see what this author has coming next。 You can expect tons of action as usual and of course love between two main characters is always wonderful。 It's not a read all in one night type of book (little lengthy) but you won't want to put it down! I have no words to explain how much I adored this entire series and how satisfying this book was as an ending and how devastated I am that it's over。 I found this series during the pandemic and it's been one of my comfort listens during long night shifts and long bus rides。 I don't know what I'm going to do without new stories of Patrick and Jono and their pack to look forward to, but I'm so grateful to have these seven books to return to over and over again。 I have no words to explain how much I adored this entire series and how satisfying this book was as an ending and how devastated I am that it's over。 I found this series during the pandemic and it's been one of my comfort listens during long night shifts and long bus rides。 I don't know what I'm going to do without new stories of Patrick and Jono and their pack to look forward to, but I'm so grateful to have these seven books to return to over and over again。 。。。more

I've got to behave myself so bad here, because I am not giving away what happens。 If you want to know, you've got to read this。 And believe me when I tell you, it is worth the read。 I'd give it 10 stars if I could。 I have loved this series from book one and the only thing that has disappointed me is poor Patrick has never gotten his vacation。 Or has he? lol That poor boy。 Caught in the middle of a war that started as a child that should have never had anything to do with him at all。 If I didn't I've got to behave myself so bad here, because I am not giving away what happens。 If you want to know, you've got to read this。 And believe me when I tell you, it is worth the read。 I'd give it 10 stars if I could。 I have loved this series from book one and the only thing that has disappointed me is poor Patrick has never gotten his vacation。 Or has he? lol That poor boy。 Caught in the middle of a war that started as a child that should have never had anything to do with him at all。 If I didn't hate Ethan before, I surely do now。 Knowing how far he was went, using his own children to do his dirty bidding or using them to try to do things that are evil。 Thankfully Patrick has had Jono and their pack to support him to keep his head on straight but geez。 It's a mess。 And the sad part of all this。。。。all this started because of the gods and goddesses and are ending with them as well。 All because greed of one man and those who took the wrong side in things。 I hate what Patrick has been put through throughout this whole series。  Each book uncovers one more thing, one more nail in the coffin, so to speak, one more secret being spilled。 But this one, this one spilled more than ever and the blow backs from it are still leaving Patrick reeling。 Jono as well。 Because as hard as this is for Pat, it's hard for Jono too。 Because what do you do for someone you love when they won't accept or listen to what you have to say。 And I have to give a bit of leeway to Pat。 With everything that gets thrown at him everyday, sometimes things people have to say you just aren't ready to hear。 You need to process and grieve if necessary。 See the big picture of it all before you can make a judgement and definitely before you can listen。 So I feel for Jono too。 Because he just wants to love Patrick and help him。 And now with everyone from every world or veil possible after them or Ethan or whoever, will it be too late to finally say the things they need to say? Pat has had one too many close calls and this time, one of those close calls may be the final one。 You'll have to read to find out。I have to say I'm uber sad that this series is over。 It's been worth every single page, tear, shred of anger and anything in between。 What the author did with this series was nothing short of amazing in my book and I hope there will be another like it from them in the future。 Absolutely amazing。 I recommend wholeheartedly。 。。。more

I’m not sure how to write a coherent review for this novel, as I’m still processing how blown away I was by the conclusion of a story arc that has just gotten more complex and engrossing over time。 Patrick and Jono have been through so much…their world and their places within it have shifted again and again and the level of intricacy involved in the way the story has developed is almost unreal。 I’m in awe of the entire series, and I’m super tempted to just drop everything and start again from bo I’m not sure how to write a coherent review for this novel, as I’m still processing how blown away I was by the conclusion of a story arc that has just gotten more complex and engrossing over time。 Patrick and Jono have been through so much…their world and their places within it have shifted again and again and the level of intricacy involved in the way the story has developed is almost unreal。 I’m in awe of the entire series, and I’m super tempted to just drop everything and start again from book 1。 I can’t say enough to recommend this, really, it’s definitely the kind of storytelling and character development you’ll want to experience for yourself! *I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review。 。。。more

AMAZING! Wow what a ride this series has been and now that it's finally over am excited to see what happens but sad there won't be more。 Don't want to say too much because of spoilers but this is everything you wanted for sure。 Exciting, action and so much emotions。 Plus fun times, sweet moments and friendship。 Jono and Pat's relationship has been tested to the extreme and I love their chemistry and faith in each other; loving and sexy in all the right ways。 Great side characters everywhere here AMAZING! What a stunning finale to an absolute EPIC adventure filled with romance, magic, werewolves, dragons and gods!!! A Veiled and Hallowed Eve is the seven book in the Soulbound and must be read in the chronological order。 It put me through a wringer of emotions, from sadness to anger to joy, and I wouldn't trade a second of it。 The series as a whole was an incredible journey, especially because I'm fascinated by the different mythologies and the author has seamlessly incorporated a variety of them。 What a stunning finale to an absolute EPIC adventure filled with romance, magic, werewolves, dragons and gods!!! A rollercoaster ride to a fantastic conclusion of an epic series。 I have been anticipating and dreading this book。 Anticipating because I always want more of Patrick and Jono and all of the other characters (even the ones we love to hate!) dreading because this is the conclusion of a series I have come to love。 I had high expectations for this book and they were all surpassed。 Hailey Turner writes with an amazing balance of action, romance, emotion, and moments of levity that not only entertain A rollercoaster ride to a fantastic conclusion of an epic series。 I have been anticipating and dreading this book。 Anticipating because I always want more of Patrick and Jono and all of the other characters (even the ones we love to hate!) dreading because this is the conclusion of a series I have come to love。 I had high expectations for this book and they were all surpassed。 Hailey Turner writes with an amazing balance of action, romance, emotion, and moments of levity that not only entertain but make her characters relatable。 This was the culmination of all the events from the previous books。 It is the demand for Patrick to pay back what he owes。 However it turns out to really be a chance for Patrick to have not only his freedom but truly live the life he has built with Jono and his amazing “found family”。 I couldn’t have asked for more。 I will never forget this world that Hailey Turner has allowed us to be a part of and will revisit it often! 。。。more

A Veiled and Hallowed Eve is an epic conclusion to an absolutely amazing series。 I don’t feel I can review this book without touching on the series as a whole。 I can honestly say this is one of the best series I have read in a long time。 The plot is fantastic, both per book and throughout the series。 The worldbuilding is nothing short of phenomenal in the way Hailey Turner manages to mix and weave different mythologies and really make it work。 But the best part of these books is the characters。 A Veiled and Hallowed Eve is an epic conclusion to an absolutely amazing series。 I don’t feel I can review this book without touching on the series as a whole。 I can honestly say this is one of the best series I have read in a long time。 The plot is fantastic, both per book and throughout the series。 The worldbuilding is nothing short of phenomenal in the way Hailey Turner manages to mix and weave different mythologies and really make it work。 But the best part of these books is the characters。 Patrick and Jono are one of the best couples I have read in a long time。 Their attraction is instant, but their relationship is a slow deepening into true, deep love that leaps off the page。 I love how they are shown over the course of each book and the series to have conflicts, communication and resolution。 They learn and their relationship deepens and evolves as they go through things together。 ----Vague, minor spoilers ahead------The secondary characters are just as engaging as Patrick and Jono。 Throughout the series I became equally attached to Patrick and Jono’s friends as they grow to become their family and pack over the course of the series。 Which is why I am only rating this book at 4 stars instead of five。 Hailey Turner wrote A Veiled and Hollowed Eve as an epic Avengers style conclusion (but with mythology instead of superheroes) and hands down she did it better than Marvel。 But it really seemed like it was only Patrick and Jono’s conclusion。 There was so much that was built up and mentioned through the series surrounding the side characters that didn’t get resolved in this book。 For instance, Merrick’s loss of color is a worry through every single book to the point I honestly expected him to either get some color back or for the worry about his sanity to somehow get addressed, but it did not。 Wade became one of the best secondary characters I’ve read in years and while he has definitely come into his own, he has so much more growth to experience。 I also worry about him in the future centuries。 We just don’t know what will become of him and that bothers me。 There are many other characters I wanted a firmer ending for: Lucien, Spencer, General Reed, etc。 It just seemed like Patrick and Jono got their happy ending and it was wonderful and worthy of five stars, but everyone else got a solid and satisfying Happy for Now which is disappointing only because of the level of build-up and attachment to those characters。 ----End spoilers-----At its heart, the Soulbound series is about choice and sacrifice。 Patrick was always going to have to make sacrifices to resolve his soul debt, but it was his choice which sacrifices he was willing to make。 His honor levelled up the entire series, because his character is a delightfully antagonistic grump, but he will do literally anything to save those he loves and categorically refuses to take the easy way out。 It’s a book and a series that will resonate with me for many years。 I absolutely recommend it to both read and listen to as I know I will do so over and over again。 。。。more

This last book in the Soulbound is a never ending thrill ride from the get go。 Patrick, Jono and their pack gather their resources to save the world from hell and it is everything you can expect from a Hailey novel。 The emotions you go through while reading this book will take you places high and low。 The author does an amazing job creating rich and unique characters while throwing bombs and magefires at them。 Highly recommend the whole series

I reread the series in preparation for this book, so I lived in the Soulbound world for a solid week (adulting kept me from reading around the clock, unfortunately)。 Escapism in its highest form。 If you are reading this review and have not read the series, you'll need to do that because A Veiled and Hallow Eve is not a standalone。 It is the culmination of an epic journey, one that transported me to New York, Chicago, London, and Paris, and introduced me to pantheons I'd never heard of。 I laughed I reread the series in preparation for this book, so I lived in the Soulbound world for a solid week (adulting kept me from reading around the clock, unfortunately)。 Escapism in its highest form。 If you are reading this review and have not read the series, you'll need to do that because A Veiled and Hallow Eve is not a standalone。 It is the culmination of an epic journey, one that transported me to New York, Chicago, London, and Paris, and introduced me to pantheons I'd never heard of。 I laughed and cried and got angry and hurt along the way with each previous title, and the final book was no exception。 I would put Hailey Turner's worldbuilding skills ability to create vivid characters up against any other writer in any genre。 Patrick, Jono, Wade, Sage, Marek。。。even Lucien, Carmen, Hermes, Hades and Persephone。 They all feel real to me。 I got everything I wanted and more from this finale, and while I'm sad to see it end, I know I'll reread this series again and again。 Thank you, Hailey, for the hours of entertainment you've provided with this series - which does not have a weak link in it - and especially this book, which ties up everything beautifully。 I'll never forget them! 。。。more

This book was epic。 I don't know how to describe how I felt about this book。 Jono and Pat will live with me forever。 This has easily been one of my favorite series of all time。 I'm so in awe of this series。 I can't praise it enough。 Hailey does such an incredible job of weaving mythology into her stories。 Her characters are so multi-dimensional。 I'm struggling with words because this series has left me wanting so much more, and knowing this is the end, is bittersweet。 This book was perfect, edge This book was epic。 I don't know how to describe how I felt about this book。 Jono and Pat will live with me forever。 This has easily been one of my favorite series of all time。 I'm so in awe of this series。 I can't praise it enough。 Hailey does such an incredible job of weaving mythology into her stories。 Her characters are so multi-dimensional。 I'm struggling with words because this series has left me wanting so much more, and knowing this is the end, is bittersweet。 This book was perfect, edge of your seat, non-stop action。 It was emotional, gut wrenching, and often terrifying。 It's always so hard to say goodbye to the characters you grow to love so much。 Jono and Pat get their much desereved ending。 。。。more

I loved this book。 The whole series has been fantastic, but I think this one is my favorite。 There is so much going on and so many reappearances from all the good and bad characters that we have met before。 We also have some new friends and lose old ones。Patrick is up to his normal madness and going off on his own。 Jono has a lot to do while Patrick is doing his own missions。 Wade does some crazy Wade things to and Sage puts all her boys in place。 I loved how everything unfolds and secrets are r I loved this book。 The whole series has been fantastic, but I think this one is my favorite。 There is so much going on and so many reappearances from all the good and bad characters that we have met before。 We also have some new friends and lose old ones。Patrick is up to his normal madness and going off on his own。 Jono has a lot to do while Patrick is doing his own missions。 Wade does some crazy Wade things to and Sage puts all her boys in place。 I loved how everything unfolds and secrets are reveled。I want to say so much about this book, but spoilers would be all over the place。 There is so much that happens and old wounds are left to heal。 I enjoyed the humor, the snark, the hurt, the pain, the love, the joy, and the anger that is all over the whole book。This is so good and you need to read it。 This series needs to be read in order。I received and ARC of this book。 This is my honest and voluntary opinion and review。 。。。more

5+ Stars! I don't even know where to begin this review; there is so much I want to say, but I also do not want to spoil a single thing。 This book was amazing; I cannot thank the author enough for the fantastic series that led to this final masterpiece。I could not set this book down once I started reading it。 It was the culmination of everything in the previous books and all of it came together in this epic finale。 I won't lie; I cried several times in this book but came out at the end satisfied 5+ Stars! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!I’d like to thank Hailey and ValentinePR for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC before it’s official release 1/10/21。 What a rollercoaster ride of a book this is! Has your emotions 😂❤️🥰 and 😭😭 - so so sad this is the last book in the series。 The different gods from differing religions and pantheons is just incredible, as are the characters。 I cannot recommend this series of books highly enough, especially if you’re a fan of MM Urban Fantasy。 Definitely gets 5🌟’s from me - A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!I’d like to thank Hailey and ValentinePR for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC before it’s official release 1/10/21。 What a rollercoaster ride of a book this is! Jono and Patrick, the final chapter。 I’ve gotten very attached to these guys! Not to mention Wade, he’s going to be even harder to let go。 As the God Pack prepares for a war they aren’t even sure they can win the tension ratchets to new levels。 Gods and mortals fight side by side to put an end to the evil that is Patrick’s father。When this author tells a story, death and destruction are sure to follow。 This book had plenty of both。 A fitting end to Jono and Patrick’s ending (or beginning as the Jono and Patrick, the final chapter。 I’ve gotten very attached to these guys! This seventh and final book in the series is a perfect finale。 It is brilliantly constructed in such a way that every element of the previous six books is incorporated into the tale。 I was nearly squealing with delight as I read and figured out how things were playing out。 The anticipation was crazy! I could not put the book down and I am in awe of the masterful job Turner did in weaving this piece of closure together。All of the previous books have been leading up to this moment and this final battle against Ethan and the Dominion Sect doesn’t disappoint。 The first part of the book gives us the preparations for the final battle that Patrick and Jono know is coming on Samhain。 The book begins about a week before as they make preparations, shore up alliances and co e up with battle plans。 Of course nothing runs smoothly and interesting twists get thrown into the story。 The book is an emotional roller coaster hitting all the major feelings。 The first big shock I just knew was coming but it gutted me nonetheless。 There were moments of terror, shock, sadness, humor, happiness, the thrill of victories, the bloodthirsty satisfaction of vengeance, and everything in between。 The storytelling is masterfully done。Once the actual battle begins it is a tense and suspenseful affair。 I don’t think I could have put the book down for anything short of the apocalypse! (Hence my writing this review at 4:20 am!) The action is so well described and such a vivid picture was painted by the author I could picture myself there observing the action。 I’ll be looking at those areas of Manhattan differently next time I am in the city! The ending is unexpected, clever and ultimately perfect, poignant and sweet。 I can’t wait to relive it all again via the audiobook。 This is most defining of my absolute favorite worlds and I am so sad to leave these characters behind。 I cannot recommend this series highly enough。**I voluntarily read an arc and this is my unbiased opinion。** 。。。more

This really has been an amazing series! There’s so much going on, the end of the world so close so many times。 The forces of good are many and varied, and sometimes rather dubious。 Those of evil are powerful and relentless。 There’s so much at stake。Patrick is at the heart of all these battles。 He’s stood time and again as the one thing stops the darkness from falling forever。 Now he has Jono and his pack at his back, and it’s an amazing thing。 Together, they can make the gods pay attention。 Fina This really has been an amazing series!
