Summary

World on Fire picks up where Magnificent Vibration left off: with the hapless Bobby Cotton and his beloved bride (and former nun), Alice, having unleashed a global pandemic that's fast wiping out half the world's population - and at God's request。

Bobby guides a very pregnant Alice and a motley crew of survivors to the Holy Land, darting through the hazards of a world that has fallen to pieces in a way more thorough than any we have seen。

But Bobby's newborn daughter is born with astonishing abilities, and she's not alone。 A miraculous Convergence is headed for Galilee, where the stakes include survival of the Earth as we know it and the human race。

By turns hilarious and deadly serious, World on Fire explores the fate of the Earth in an utterly original way。

Not everyone is cut out to read an audio book even if they wrote it。 I have listened to many audio books read by the author and I couldn’t finish them because they were just not good readers。 Rick Springfield is not one of those authors! To be clear, he performed this novel complete with sound effects! It was really well done, even better than the audio book of his fist novel Magnificent Vibration。 Since this was done as an audio only Audible Original, I’m guessing that there was a bigger budget Not everyone is cut out to read an audio book even if they wrote it。 I have listened to many audio books read by the author and I couldn’t finish them because they were just not good readers。 Rick Springfield is not one of those authors! It was really well done, even better than the audio book of his fist novel Magnificent Vibration。 Since this was done as an audio only Audible Original, I’m guessing that there was a bigger budget involved and because his usual production guru Marty Spindel wasn’t behind the knobs。 All that said it sure seemed like Rick was having fun, so you kinda have to have fun listening to him。 Which is not to say that his message was lost in all that fun。 Appropriate that this was written and released during an actual global pandemic。 。。。more

Unique and quirky humor。 Springfield does a great job reading it and bringing the story to life。

First: I learned that I do not like to listen to a book I would rather read it myself。 That being said listening to Mr。 Springfield read to me was pleasant, really it was very pleasant。 Second: I laughed out loud multiple times, wanted to cry a few times and completely enjoyed the story。 I find it to be relevant in many ways to what we are going currently through and hope that there is another segment in the future。

I'm so glad this story continued。 I was really satisfied with the ending of Magnificent Vibration, and didn't even expect a sequel; but, I'm glad to know what happened next。 I do wish Springfield hadn't taken lengths to make Horatio SO dumb in this one。 I know he's average, but I found myself almost siding with the entities who mocked him! This novel didn't have the same charm as its predecessor, but it was still a really great story with a message about how much humans suck。 I can totally get b I'm so glad this story continued。 I was really satisfied with the ending of Magnificent Vibration, and didn't even expect a sequel; but, I'm glad to know what happened next。 I do wish Springfield hadn't taken lengths to make Horatio SO dumb in this one。 I know he's average, but I found myself almost siding with the entities who mocked him!
