Then at the end of the book she doesn’t even want to go with the prince because she thinks it would be INAPPROPRIATE, who’s going to tell her that killing people for a living and getting paid for it is technically illegal。 Sorry, why does she care about being appropriate? The captain of the guards has never killed anyone, and is shown to be a tough, brooding character throughout the whole book, and then at the end we get his POV and he turns out to be some inexperienced knight or whatever, who actually has very dee emotions and has trouble showing them。 No。Then the prince, is portrayed to be a reader, but can still best the captains of the guards, who practices every night。 He’s also portrayed as a playboy but we never see him with any girls, and also wasn’t Calena, or whatever her name was, meant to be his little playmate? Why was everyone so worried about them being together when they could’ve just used that excuse。 So yeah, the characters did not make sense half the time and it ruined half of the book for me。 。。。more

The “Throne of Glass” series by Sarah J。 Maas is immensely popular。 The series, “Throne of Glass” is the first book, has sold over 12 million copies。 So I had to read it!But did I like it? Another amazing book by Maas。 Absolutely loved it。 I think Celaena is my absolute favourite heroine of all time。 What I loved about her character was her strong personality。 She's with her own flaws yet she's strong, arrogant and fearless。 The writing style is simply beautiful。 The fighting scenes were so detailed and very enjoyable。 It was intense and I felt like I was watching it live。 I liked the mixture of medieval and modern world。 The fantasy aspect of the story is brilliantly mixed with f Another amazing book by Maas。 Absolutely loved it。 I think Celaena is my absolute favourite heroine of all time。 What I loved about her character was her strong personality。 She's with her own flaws yet she's strong, arrogant and fearless。 The writing style is simply beautiful。 The fighting scenes were so detailed and very enjoyable。 It was intense and I felt like I was watching it live。 I liked the mixture of medieval and modern world。 The fantasy aspect of the story is brilliantly mixed with forbidden magic and portals。 I can not wait to read the Crown of Midnight in this series and to see where Celaena Sardothien's journey will take her。 。。。more

Sarah J Maas is so talented。 I was instantly captivated by this story! Her writing is incredible。 This story is exactly what Ive been wanting to read and I can’t wait to read the rest! I’ll definitely read anything Sarah writes。 I loved the world building, and I love everything about Celaena。 She’s a badass but still feminine and I’m obsessed with her。

After finishing all of the current ACOTAR books and House of Earth and Blood, I finally decided to give Sarah J Maas’ first wildly popular series a shot。 My reaction? I liked it a lot! To be clear, there is definitely a difference between Sarah’s writing in Throne of Glass and A Court of Silver Flames which is expected! Easy read and great story! Her characters are just as developed as her plot。 I love the way Maas writes。 Mass does a great job making Selena a badass with inner turmoil, without out making her whiney。 Can’t wait to read the rest。

Read in one dayThe story is very interesting。 Knowing it's a full series I can see where it can go in so many directions。 I felt I needed to know what was happening so I read late at night and scared myself。 It was great and I'm already in love with these characters。 Read in one dayThe story is very interesting。 Knowing it's a full series I can see where it can go in so many directions。 I felt I needed to know what was happening so I read late at night and scared myself。 It was great and I'm already in love with these characters。 。。。more

It seems like everyone and their aunt has read (and loved) this series, so when one of my best friends gave me all her books to read, I was very much looking forward to it。 This first one, though, wasn't quite what I imagined。 The protagonist comes across a bit Mary-Sue-ish: at only 18, she's better than anyone else, accomplishes anything she sets out to do, and is loved by everyone。 In the second half, she's equipped with some endearing quirks, and the intriguing story makes up for a lot, and I It seems like everyone and their aunt has read (and loved) this series, so when one of my best friends gave me all her books to read, I was very much looking forward to it。 This first one, though, wasn't quite what I imagined。 The protagonist comes across a bit Mary-Sue-ish: at only 18, she's better than anyone else, accomplishes anything she sets out to do, and is loved by everyone。 In the second half, she's equipped with some endearing quirks, and the intriguing story makes up for a lot, and I already heard that the series is getting better as it goes, which is why I still enjoyed reading this as a set up to a hopefully more captivating book 2 (and so on。。。)。 。。。more

I own this book。 I have owned this book for a shocking amount of time and I have always put off reading it。 I'm not sure why, but it just always seemed intimidating, I mean people really really have strong opinions about this series and the author。 Basically, this book follows Celaena, an assassin。 Potentially the most notorious assassin in the land。 But she was caught and is due to be living out the remainder of her days in a death camp as a miner。 That is until the Crown Prince and the Capta I own this book。 I have owned this book for a shocking amount of time and I have always put off reading it。 I'm not sure why, but it just always seemed intimidating, I mean people really really have strong opinions about this series and the author。 Basically, this book follows Celaena, an assassin。 Potentially the most notorious assassin in the land。 But she was caught and is due to be living out the remainder of her days in a death camp as a miner。 That is until the Crown Prince and the Captain of the Royal Guard come to her and offer her an exchange。 Her freedom, in four years, if she competes and is successful in becoming the Kings Champion。 Champion to a king she hates or rot away in a death camp? Of course she takes the former。 Keeping her identity a secret, she works at becoming the best under the watchful eyes of Dorian and Choal but there is something darker at play, and her competitors are starting to show up dead in gruesome ways。 This story ties in a lot of points。 Fae, magic, ancient religion, curses and so on。 It was interesting, detailed enough to keep me hooked but missing enough to keep me interested。 I found Celaena a bit tedious at points, and the writing to be a little blunt but the overall story was really interesting。 I love both Dorian and Choal and I would continue on with this series in the future。 。。。more

。。。more

2。5。 Great premise, poor execution。 I’ve heard the sequels are much better, so I powered through。

Pretty enjoyable story, but the writing left a lot to be desired。 The author reminding us every couple pages that Celaena is an assassin, because she wasn’t doing assassin things for a while, got very old。 And many of the plot points were quite obvious。 Still, the final battle scene and the relationships between Celaena and her friends were well done。

Cristina Azul

I LOVE LOVE LOVE different takes on fairytales and Cinderella is one of my favorites。 I liked the journey and the pace of this book, it was a good start to the series, I wish Maas had kept it up for the rest of the books in this series, I wasn't super invested in the whole love-triangle aspect, but that's really a "me" problem。 I ended up not finishing the series when I started it a few years ago, I picked it up again this summer and this book was still fantastic, however my motivation to read t I LOVE LOVE LOVE different takes on fairytales and Cinderella is one of my favorites。 I liked the journey and the pace of this book, it was a good start to the series, I wish Maas had kept it up for the rest of the books in this series, I wasn't super invested in the whole love-triangle aspect, but that's really a "me" problem。 I ended up not finishing the series when I started it a few years ago, I picked it up again this summer and this book was still fantastic, however my motivation to read the rest of the books ran out around book 3。 。。。more

。。。more
