Summary

An award-winning journalist investigates a story largely ignored by mainstream media but right there, in front of our eyes 。。。

UFOs, UAPs, flying cigars, extraordinary new technologies 。。。 Are we not alone?

Award-winning investigative journalist Ross Coulthart has been intrigued by UFOs since mysterious glowing lights were reported near New Zealand's Kaikoura mountains when he was a teenager。 The 1978 sighting is just one of thousands since the 1940s, and yet research into UFOs is still seen as the realm of crackpots and conspiracy theorists。

In 2020, however, after decades of denial, the US Department of Defence made the astonishing admission that strange aerial and underwater objects frequently reported and videoed by pilots and tracked by sensors are real, unexplained, and pose a genuine national security concern。

Compelled to investigate, Coulthart has embarked on what's become the most confronting and challenging story of his career, speaking to witnesses, researchers, scientists, spies and defence and intelligence officials and insiders。 What he has found suggests that the world is on the cusp of extraordinary technological breakthroughs and cultural revelations。

Bizarre, sometimes mind-blowing and utterly fascinating, In Plain Sight tells a story that's largely escaped the radar of mainstream media coverage but has been there all along。 Now it's time to observe what's in front of our eyes。

I'm currently reading this one from investigative TV journalist Ross Coulthart from Australia and NZ。 So far, he's doing well reviewing the 20th century world history of UFO's from an Aussie perspective。 I've heard plenty from American researchers and journos in this subject, so Ross's take is refreshing。 I'm currently reading this one from investigative TV journalist Ross Coulthart from Australia and NZ。 So far, he's doing well reviewing the 20th century world history of UFO's from an Aussie perspective。 I've heard plenty from American researchers and journos in this subject, so Ross's take is refreshing。 。。。more

Great bookA top notch investigation of UAP by a talented journalist。 This is one of the best books I have read on this subject。 He digs and does original reporting trying to edge his way into the government secrets of UAP with outstanding results。

Excellent history of the UFO/UAP phenomenon。 Coulthart's award-winning journalism chops were evident; he's good storyteller and to my ears sounded pretty unbiased。 He provided lots of detail about his research methods and how he put things together; felt like I was on the treasure hunt with him。 Recommended, especially for those wanting a solid overview。 Excellent history of the UFO/UAP phenomenon。 Coulthart's award-winning journalism chops were evident; he's good storyteller and to my ears sounded pretty unbiased。 He provided lots of detail about his research methods and how he put things together; felt like I was on the treasure hunt with him。 Recommended, especially for those wanting a solid overview。 。。。more

Ultimately it’s just hard work keeping up with the cast -names, occupations, past or present military, credible or nut job, it’s hard to keep track of them all。

FantasticRoss has done a huge amount of legwork here instead of just taking peoples word for things。 He remains level headed in his approach, and poses really intriguing questions。 If you’re looking for a modern take on the UAP subject that’s concise and honest, this is the book for you。 Bravo, Ross!

Every once in a while, somebody is trying to put the Ufo phenomenon in perspective。 It follows the literature, authors, sends emails to key witness and put it's own theories according to his/her frame of reference or mind。 In this case we have the extraterrestrial thesis as the only hypothesis behind the unknown objects in the sky。 The book covers the usual suspects (Roswell, Skinwalker Ranch, cattle mutilations) but ignores crucial details that many other books have offered。 Actually, almost al Every once in a while, somebody is trying to put the Ufo phenomenon in perspective。 It follows the literature, authors, sends emails to key witness and put it's own theories according to his/her frame of reference or mind。 In this case we have the extraterrestrial thesis as the only hypothesis behind the unknown objects in the sky。 The book covers the usual suspects (Roswell, Skinwalker Ranch, cattle mutilations) but ignores crucial details that many other books have offered。 Actually, almost all of the books in the bibliography are in favor of the extraterrestrial theory behind the Ufo phenomenon。 Accordingly the author fails to walk the thin line between misinformation and disinformation。 In the end of the day, the truth as usual is under your nose or just behind the corner, waiting for the right moment to materilize。 。。。more

So far the best book I read on the subject。

The history of the UFO / UAP phenomenon described by a very credible journalist。 Since Ross is from Australia the perspective is wider than the usual American UFO stories, but they do (of course) make up the larger part of the book。 If you've listened to Joe Rogan ranting about UFO:s, read the Pentagon UAP report or the New York Times articles about UAP:s, and you want to know more, this book is a great start。 There are several great interviews with Ross Coulthart at various podcasts。 Start with The history of the UFO / UAP phenomenon described by a very credible journalist。 Since Ross is from Australia the perspective is wider than the usual American UFO stories, but they do (of course) make up the larger part of the book。 If you've listened to Joe Rogan ranting about UFO:s, read the Pentagon UAP report or the New York Times articles about UAP:s, and you want to know more, this book is a great start。 There are several great interviews with Ross Coulthart at various podcasts。 Start with one of them and I'm sure you will want to read the book。 I particularly enjoyed the interview with Ross by Podcast UFO。 。。。more

Very interestingAnd if any of it is true quite extraordinary。But you know what they say about extraordinary claims。And good stories sell books。But the recent very minimalistic Pentagon report publicly admitting to the reality of Unexplained Aerial Phenomena ( UAPs) that are well unexplained is a game changer。
