This was a rereading but no better success than the first。 In fact, I stopped at the first book。A little 'because I am not a target, because it is not the historical moment perhaps to read a book that revolves around the idea of the US as the cradle of civilization at the expense of poor Greece。 Lastly, for the fact that the characters are concerned with indulging the divine parents without there being a character who really rebels。In short, the vote is for my reading experience and not for the validity of the text which is certainly undisputed。 。。。more

After becoming obsessed with the musical, I wanted to go back to the Lightning Thief and relive the Greek-based adventure。 But I couldn't stop there。 I soon found myself reading the whole series again and loving it more this time。 The first time I read them, I thought they lacked levity。 This time around I found Percy quips funny, not obnoxious。 The characters are lovable and noble though far from perfect。 They truly seem like gang of kids fighting for their lives。 I love Annabeth, Percy, and Gr After becoming obsessed with the musical, I wanted to go back to the Lightning Thief and relive the Greek-based adventure。 But I couldn't stop there。 I soon found myself reading the whole series again and loving it more this time。 The first time I read them, I thought they lacked levity。 This time around I found Percy quips funny, not obnoxious。 The characters are lovable and noble though far from perfect。 They truly seem like gang of kids fighting for their lives。 I love Annabeth, Percy, and Grover the best。 。。。more

PERCY JACKSON AND THE FOLLOWING:LIGHTNING THIEFPercy Jackson realises he is a half-blood ( half human, half god) and he is in life threatening danger。 So, he has to go to Camp Half-blood。 On the other hand, someone stole Zeus's lightning bolt is stolen and Percy is a prime suspect。 Now it's upon Percy and his two new friends to go find the bolt in Underworld and also save Percy's mum。SEA OF MONSTERSPercy goes on a quest to find the Golden Fleece and save his friend Grover across the Sea of Monst PERCY JACKSON AND THE FOLLOWING:LIGHTNING THIEFPercy Jackson realises he is a half-blood ( half human, half god) and he is in life threatening danger。 So, he has to go to Camp Half-blood。 On the other hand, someone stole Zeus's lightning bolt is stolen and Percy is a prime suspect。 Now it's upon Percy and his two new friends to go find the bolt in Underworld and also save Percy's mum。SEA OF MONSTERSPercy goes on a quest to find the Golden Fleece and save his friend Grover across the Sea of Monsters。 Percy also meets his half brother- Tyson。TITAN'S CURSEPercy along with Anabeth and Talia battle against the original titan as tensions between God's is brewing。I'm obsessed with the series。 Initially, I didn't want to begin reading it as it's a huge series。 Five books is no small deal but all it took me was five days and within a week I was done with the series and craving for more。 The world building is amazing。 The characters are awesome。 The plotlines is so freaking cool。 I wish I was a half blood and got a chance to stay at Camp Half-blood。 *Sigh**For someone beginning to delve into Greek mythology, this series is perfect place to start。 Much easier and lighter plots to follow than Madeline Miller's books。 Although, there were some problematic elements at some place, but I guess Greek mythology is bit problematic to begin with。Now I know, why all Percy Jackson fans hate the movies so much because the movies are nothing like the books。 It's so so so different。 And although I loved them both, the books are so much better。 I'm glad I saw the movies first, that way I didn't hate them as much as other PJ fans did。 。。。more

Wow! There is no way this book, and all the Percy Jackson books will not become classics in time。 The amount of research is evident in the weaving of each story。 I have read mythology books since I was 7, and wish I had read twice as many so I might be better prepared for the info within these books。 By the way, I am 82, proving these books are interesting at any age!

I admit, I had avoided the Percy Jackson books because I thought I hated Greek mythology。 When your 8th grade literature teacher makes you read the myths aloud and then write essays analyzing them, all the entertainment gets sucked out。Thanks to Percy Jackson, I think I was Googling a myth about once a chapter and then falling into the rabbit hole of researching it further。The books move at a fast pace; the characters are likeable。 Are some plot beats predictable? Faultless。 I think we can all agree that our mythology stage started as a result of these books and now we are all grown adults still buying them from the kids section if only to follow along the story from our childhood。 Every Christmas I re-read the series and every Christmas I fall back in love with the characters, with uncle Rick and with my second home; camp half blood。

Percy Jackson is an entertaining read that I immensely enjoyed。 The first two books weren't the best in the series, but if you can make it through them, the series gets way better。 I loved the characters and seeing their growth—a good story, in my opinion, tugs at all your emotions by the end, which this does。 The characters have to make sacrifices by the end, and it isn't all rainbows, which I like。 If you like this series, check out Rick Riordan's THE HERO'S OF OLYMPUS series, which follows so Percy Jackson is an entertaining read that I immensely enjoyed。 The first two books weren't the best in the series, but if you can make it through them, the series gets way better。 I loved the characters and seeing their growth—a good story, in my opinion, tugs at all your emotions by the end, which this does。 The characters have to make sacrifices by the end, and it isn't all rainbows, which I like。 If you like this series, check out Rick Riordan's THE HERO'S OF OLYMPUS series, which follows some of the same main characters。 So far, it has been terrific。Violence- Teenagers are often depicted in combat and some to die。 Most of the more graphic violence depicted happens to monsters, such as heads or limbs being cut off。Language- Very minorDrug- Some minor mention of wineSex-N/A 。。。more

This is honestly my favorite book。 Percy is just so witty and street-smart。 I love Annabeth, too。 Probably my favourite god would be Artemis。 This book really taught me to love the Greek Gods。 Now, I think of myself as a Hellenic Polytheist!

This is a really good book for young adult/preteen/teenager because of the humor, backtalk, and multiple other things。 I read this a while ago, and loved it。

This was a fun read。 I read all five books of the series quite quickly。 I think the story has a wonderful, premise - of Olympian gods and their present day demigods。 The main character is a boy who is the child of Poseidon, the god of the Sea。 A basic knowledge of the gods is really nice to have but the author does do some explaining through the characters because Percy is not that knowledgeable of the gods or the history either。 Percy and his friends help save the world from various threats thr This was a fun read。 I read all five books of the series quite quickly。 I think the story has a wonderful, premise - of Olympian gods and their present day demigods。 The main character is a boy who is the child of Poseidon, the god of the Sea。 A basic knowledge of the gods is really nice to have but the author does do some explaining through the characters because Percy is not that knowledgeable of the gods or the history either。 Percy and his friends help save the world from various threats throughout the books。 One unique aspect of this story is that most of the demigods have an ADHD and dyslexia, explained by their brains being wired to read ancient Greek。 I think this idea and numerous mention of it both help people without reading disabilities or ADHD to understand some of the difficulties, and also it makes children with the disability feel special。 Although the constant reminder did get a bit tiresome for me personally, I get that the author felt it was important to do so。 Writing wise, it is definitely a children's book。 The writing style felt very loose and simple, as opposed to the tightknit, descriptive style of Harry Potter, for example。 Having read American Gods and recently getting caught up on the show, I saw Percy Jackson's adventures as the kids version (and Greek version) of American Gods。 。。。more
