I was excited to return to Vegas with the Dark Kings。 Cross went through a lot as a child and this insight really helps you understand why he is the way he is。 So many twist and turns to this story。 Hold on to your hat because it is the best of wild rides。 He knew getting involved with Alexa was forbidden， but it really didn't stop him one bit。 The interactions of the brothers of Dark Kings is really what makes this series。 There are some of the strongest baddest females in this series。 This is I was excited to return to Vegas with the Dark Kings。 Cross went through a lot as a child and this insight really helps you understand why he is the way he is。 So many twist and turns to this story。 Hold on to your hat because it is the best of wild rides。 He knew getting involved with Alexa was forbidden， but it really didn't stop him one bit。 The interactions of the brothers of Dark Kings is really what makes this series。 There are some of the strongest baddest females in this series。 This is a series that needs read in order。 This is by far one of my favorite Dark Romance Series。 Full review coming to Bookcaseandcoffee。com 。。。more

In the Dark Kings series， Cross and Bones are the two we know the least about specifically Cross。 I knew his story would be delicious and Tessier did not disappoint。Cross is damaged but Alexa well Alexa was here to knock him on his a** and she had such a strength to her that together with Cross made them a complete package。What’s a King without his Queen？ Let’s hope we never have to find out。

I can not get enough of these dark and gritty Kings。 And Cross is here at last！Cross has always been an obscured and tantalizing enigma- the blazing inferno burning in plain sight ， but a fire so captivating that you fail to see the spark that ignited the embers。 Like all our Kings- he’s dark， twisted， deliciously demanding， and haunted。 Like his fire he can be dangerous and destructive， but also like fire he can be warm and sustaining。 THis was the side of Cross I was not expecting， and the pa I can not get enough of these dark and gritty Kings。 And Cross is here at last！Cross has always been an obscured and tantalizing enigma- the blazing inferno burning in plain sight ， but a fire so captivating that you fail to see the spark that ignited the embers。 Like all our Kings- he’s dark， twisted， deliciously demanding， and haunted。 Like his fire he can be dangerous and destructive， but also like fire he can be warm and sustaining。 THis was the side of Cross I was not expecting， and the part of this story that really works。 Cross as a character is more than the heat of the flame- he’s the steady breath of the ember。 （enough fire references for you yet？！） Underneath the dark bravado and grit， is a man who deeply feels and cares。 A man who sacrifices for others。 He’s surprisingly soulful， endearingly thoughtful， at times fun and other times deeply tortured。 He’s intoxicating， and I love that his enigmatic aurora still exists for me even after I know him better。Alexa didn’t quite sparkle for me like her bestie- who is undoubtedly my favorite Shantel heroine， but I was pleased to see she can hold her own。 She’s fun， sassy， but also stoic and thoughtful。 There’s a maturity to her that belies her age - and that ends up creating a safe space for Cross to unfold before her。 A connection that deepens with her own drama。 Her combination of toughness with gentleness matches that very dynamic and Cross， and even though I felt there was a bit of instalove here， you do understand how they gravitate to one another。 They just seem to fit。 Cross the King， the man， is intriguing for me- his character arc the part of this story that truly shines。 Cross the story is perhaps not my favorite of the series， but it's Shantel- so it’s still a wild， sexy， and dark ride。 I did feel this had a bit more instalove than I’m used to from ST- so while it is clear these two are a perfect match for a lot of reasons， I wish we got to spend more time deepening and building their emotional connection and nuances in their chemistry。 This starts highly physical （and IT IS HOT） but then is more instalove- that still feels mostly physical。 I was also elated to see a prior couple’s story play an important part of this book as well since they are my favorite- but was not expecting my heart to hurt so much from that。 And the unexpected result is that my emotional energy got fixed on them for a bit （and did Cross and Alexa’s）， which I think maybe dimmed Alexa and Cross’s own story for me for a bit。 But， I still adored them， and binged this in one sitting。 And， we get so much Kings action and more fun times with the best damn girl gang around。 I can’t believe we are nearing the end of this fantastic series- one king to go， and I think he’s gonna be the most difficult。 But， Shantel has left us with so many amazing character and spin-off potentials- I hope she plays around in this world for many more books to come！ 。。。more
