Summary

A #1 New York Times bestselling author and an Edgar Award winner team up to deliver this gripping new novel featuring investigator Kendra Michaels—whose observational skills are worthy of a modern-day Sherlock Holmes。

Delilah Winter is one of the hottest pop stars on the planet, so how in the world was she kidnapped right in the middle of a show at the famous Hollywood Bowl? If anyone can figure it out, it's Dr。 Kendra Michaels, who works with local and federal authorities on only the most impossible cases。 Blind for the first twenty years of her life until a revolutionary surgical procedure allowed her to regain her sight, Kendra uses her powers of observation—honed during her years in the dark—to detect what other investigators don't。 She agrees to lead the race to rescue the young singer before time runs out。

Joined by Jessie Mercado, the singer's former bodyguard and a military hero, Kendra closes in on the hideout location but not before casualties mount up。 Desperate for leads, Kendra must set aside her personal feelings when agent-for-hire Adam Lynch also volunteers his special skills to aid in the search。

But as the abductor's true purpose becomes clear, the trio uncover a plot they never could have imagined—leading to a showdown they won't soon forget。

Excellent rainy day book to start to read。 Only problem was I could not put it down and finished the book in one day。 Great thriller with Dr。 Kendra Michels, Jessie Mercado and Adam Lynch。 Love the dynamics between the three characters along with the supporting FBI and Kendra’s friend Olivia。 Love books where I like the key characters - looking forward to the next one in the series。

Blink of an Eye was well paced with good twists。 solid addition to one of my favorite series。 I'm going with 4/5 stars mostly because i've been reading these since Nightwatch (4) first came out a few years ago and I feel like there have been stronger books in the series- Sight Unseen (2) and The Naked Eye (3) are my personal favorites and featured the Colby-arc。 Kendra and Lynch are always fun to read but since Double Blind (6) they seem to be going in circles a bit。 Hope we see some progress in Blink of an Eye was well paced with good twists。 solid addition to one of my favorite series。 I'm going with 4/5 stars mostly because i've been reading these since Nightwatch (4) first came out a few years ago and I feel like there have been stronger books in the series- Sight Unseen (2) and The Naked Eye (3) are my personal favorites and featured the Colby-arc。 Kendra and Lynch are always fun to read but since Double Blind (6) they seem to be going in circles a bit。 Hope we see some progress in the next one! 。。。more

First let me just start with that I absolutely love Iris Johansen books。 I have been a fan of all of her mystery books so far that I have picked up and this is just another one that I really liked。 The books is fast moving and grabs your attention within the first few pages。 The characters are all easy to relate to and what Kendra Michaels can do is amazing in itself。 However, you don't really get to see Kendra Michaels powers of observation because the book really does focus on Delilah Winter a First let me just start with that I absolutely love Iris Johansen books。 I have been a fan of all of her mystery books so far that I have picked up and this is just another one that I really liked。 The books is fast moving and grabs your attention within the first few pages。 The characters are all easy to relate to and what Kendra Michaels can do is amazing in itself。 However, you don't really get to see Kendra Michaels powers of observation because the book really does focus on Delilah Winter and Jessie Mercado。 I would really label this as a Jessie Mercado book because of how much of a back seat that Kendra Michaels takes。The narration by Elisabeth Rodgers is done well。 The way that she changes her voice for each character really helps paint the story for you as you are listening to it。 There are a few times where the change between each chapter is a little too long and you think that the book has just randomly ended。 Rating: 4 out of 5 because I would have really liked to see more of Kendra Michaels since this was a Kendra Michaels book。 。。。more

Even though this is a Kendra Michaels series book and she does her thing, its about Dee and jessie's friendship and the bond between these two women。 I have loved Iris johansen for many years and she is one of my favorite romantic suspense writers of all time! Hmmmm。 I’m not sure exactly what to say about this book except that it seemed flat。 I was really looking forward to it as I’ve read all the Kendra Michaels books and have really enjoyed them up til now。 Kendra felt robotic to me, and as much as I was looking forward to more between her and Lynch, it just never happened- their dialogue was not engaging。 Even Jessie felt flat and this book featured her heavily。 I felt bored reading it。 I miss the excitement where I want to stay up all night becaus Hmmmm。 I’m not sure exactly what to say about this book except that it seemed flat。 I was really looking forward to it as I’ve read all the Kendra Michaels books and have really enjoyed them up til now。 Kendra felt robotic to me, and as much as I was looking forward to more between her and Lynch, it just never happened- their dialogue was not engaging。 Even Jessie felt flat and this book featured her heavily。 I felt bored reading it。 I miss the excitement where I want to stay up all night because I can’t put it down。 。。。more

I had a hard time plowing through this one。 The dialogue was silly and the mystery droned on and on and on FAR too long。 Kendra and Jessie were OK, but again -- too much of a not very good thing。

A quick page turner where the FBI tries to locate a kidnapped pop star。 This is the eighth book in the series but I haven't read the other seven so you can easily jump right in。 This left me intrigued to try the other books in the series。Thank you to Grand Central Publishing for my gifted copy。 A quick page turner where the FBI tries to locate a kidnapped pop star。 This is the eighth book in the series but I haven't read the other seven so you can easily jump right in。 This left me intrigued to try the other books in the series。Thank you to Grand Central Publishing for my gifted copy。 。。。more

Another awesome read by Iris Johansen。 I am so glad that they were able to save Dee from Noah。 Shame there are people like him walking around everywhere。 Obsession seems to ruin so many lives。 People with money think they can get away with just about anything, although he almost did。 How sad that innocent lives are destroyed by the likes of Noah。 Just glad Lynch was able t survive the first attempt and delivering the ransom。 Who would have though Noah seeing how he offered the ransom money would Another awesome read by Iris Johansen。 I am so glad that they were able to save Dee from Noah。 Shame there are people like him walking around everywhere。 Obsession seems to ruin so many lives。 People with money think they can get away with just about anything, although he almost did。 How sad that innocent lives are destroyed by the likes of Noah。 Just glad Lynch was able t survive the first attempt and delivering the ransom。 Who would have though Noah seeing how he offered the ransom money would actually be the one behind the whole kidnapping ordeal。 I also love the chemistry with Kendra and Lynch。 Seems they are destined to be together one way or another! I have read all the books in the Kendra Michaels series but this book can easily be read as a standalone, I think。Dee is a young superstar who is suddenly kidnapped from a concert。 Kendra and her friend Jessie are asked to provide some support to the team who are tasked with finding her。 There is the usual suspense that you can expect in a Johansen book and, as usual, I like the sorts of things that Jessie does in the course of fighting off the bad guys。 Kendra's powers of observation come to th I have read all the books in the Kendra Michaels series but this book can easily be read as a standalone, I think。Dee is a young superstar who is suddenly kidnapped from a concert。 Kendra and her friend Jessie are asked to provide some support to the team who are tasked with finding her。 There is the usual suspense that you can expect in a Johansen book and, as usual, I like the sorts of things that Jessie does in the course of fighting off the bad guys。 Kendra's powers of observation come to the fore again, out of all the characters that Iris Johansen has developed, she is my favourite, but I think she was underutilised in this particular book。 Lynch makes an appearance but he really is on the periphery on this occasion。 This was a good book but not as good as it could have been。4 stars from me。 。。。more

Clunky writing, especially the dialogue。 Such melodrama, yet mostly boring, even with exclamation points to make sure you've noticed when someone has shot a gun!!! I finished the book so I figured I had to give it at least 3 stars。 However, after finishing the book, I thought about the plot (which was pretty far-fetched) and then thought about how it seemed to create a mystery that really did not make sense。 SPOILER ALERT-Why was the singer kidnapped at a concert? Wouldn't it have made more sense to do it someplace else? This was especially important when you look at the main villain's motivation。This was my first book by this author and I'm not sure yet i I finished the book so I figured I had to give it at least 3 stars。 However, after finishing the book, I thought about the plot (which was pretty far-fetched) and then thought about how it seemed to create a mystery that really did not make sense。 SPOILER ALERT-Why was the singer kidnapped at a concert? I am happy that this book was so much better than her last two。 It felt like she went back to the original way of writing and what works。 This one had a lot of action and very little of the relationship building between Kendra and Lynch。 It's so much more interesting when the plot is about solving a crime instead of discussing a romance。 I hope that she keeps the writing on the thrilling rather than the romantic side in the future。 I am happy that this book was so much better than her last two。 It felt like she went back to the original way of writing and what works。 This one had a lot of action and very little of the relationship building between Kendra and Lynch。 It's so much more interesting when the plot is about solving a crime instead of discussing a romance。 I hope that she keeps the writing on the thrilling rather than the romantic side in the future。 。。。more

I have never given any of Iris Johansson’s books less than a 4 star rating。 I love all her characters。 This one was about Kendra Michaels, Jessie Mecardo and Adam Lynch!! What’s not to love!!

Well-written with interesting character development, the reader will enjoy the twists and turns as a famous pop star is kidnapped from stage。 Her good friend, formerly blind but now with restored vision, is working for the FBI and is immediately on the case。 As well as others from previous books in the series。 This is a stand-alone book and not a predictable ending (until near the end)。

I've read all of the Kendra Michaels' books so far because I like them, but not this one。 The number one reason is why make your main character a minor character in her own book? This was the Jessie/Delilah show which would be fine if it were the Jessie Mercado series, but it's not。 I like Jessie, but I want Kendra and Lynch, that's why I read the books。 Also, I figured out who the "bad guy" was the second he was introduced。 I've read all of the Kendra Michaels' books so far because I like them, but not this one。 The number one reason is why make your main character a minor character in her own book?
